INTRODUCTION
HIV known as the Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a virus that dangerously attacks the immune system which made up of T cells that helps the immune system prevent infection. This virus weakens the immune system preventing it from fighting antigens.
This virus can be transmitted through contact with an infected individual and can be attained through sexual intercourse, kissing, breastfeeding, blood, etc. Also, this virus may be acquired from hospitals that don’t adhere to infection control measures, due to their carelessness, one can be accidentally infected. If this virus is not well nurtured, it can lead to a more chronic virus called AIDS- Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.
To begin with the contest, I will answer the following questions:
Have you had a discriminatory experience against someone who has HIV-AIDS?
Should these people have jobs?
Can a person with HIV be cured?
Have you had a discriminatory experience against someone who has HIV-AIDS?
We are all living with different challenges, we can just be lucky that they are not chronic like the others. Knowing someone's HIV/AIDS status shouldn’t give me the right to discriminate against them, it can be very unfair as no one responsible for such virus. All I can do is to support them, make them feel loved and valued.
I’ve seen quite a lot of people with this condition, my mum being in the medical sector and most of the time I visit her in the hospital. The hospital made sure they provided them with the necessary treatment to prevent it from escalating, prayed with them, and made them feel loved.
Should these people have jobs?
As far as I’m concerned, HIV is not written on the forehead of an infected person as much they are taking the necessary dose. A lot of them look so healthy that it allows them to perform physical tasks.
Having this health condition shouldn't prevent them from working besides it’s all about what you can offer. Most importantly, these people should work in a place where they are loved, supported and appreciated.
Can a person with HIV be cured?
Very sad, there is no cure for this virus, HIV. But it can be managed with the treatment- antiretroviral therapy (ART) which helps to suppress the virus which can lead to AIDS. This treatments does not necessarily eradicate the virus, but help in suppressing so people with this virus can live a fulfilling life like others.
In conclusion, HIV has become one of the most global health challenges. It is important we take necessary precautions and prevention strategies like the safe sex practice, knowing your partner’s HIV status, prevention of Mother-Child transmission, needle safety etc.
Thanks for reading to the end, it’s so amazing and feel so good sharing this here with you. I would love to invite @icon-monday, @neystar23 and @ruth-joe to join this contest

Exactly my point… we all should be able to earn accordingly despite any health challenges.
Thanks once again.
Definitely, anticipating more of this from you. Have a nice day
