Touch, by allowing me to feel texture, heat and pressure, establishes a physical connection with my environment.

The skin alone is an amazing sensory organ with receptors for sensing four distinct sensory inputs. With the skin we can tell the temperature, we can also feel a gentle touch and the skin can differentiate the touch from pressure and can also feel pain.
If we are blindfolded in a car, once it moves we will know it's moving and can tell when it stopped. the vestibular sense is responsible for this.
With our eyes closed, we can never miss our mouth because the sense of proprioception tells us exactly where these body part are located at all time.
