Greetings and blessings to all the steemits that make life in this community @HealthySteem, after a long absence to this platform I am back, and this is my first post in this community, what better to start with this topic that is of utmost importance to all.
This is an excellent topic because many of us go through and have experiences with some family members who have this type of addiction, it is really not easy to have to deal with them, in my family are the men who are more carried away by this vice.
When can we say that a person is an alcoholic? justify your answer! I am going to tell you about our own family experience.
I am going to tell you our own family experience since this is everyone's problem and it affects us all as such, we currently have two cases, there was a first case but this one the alcohol took him to the extreme of dying because of it 😭. This part is sad to have to see, how this person was deteriorating little by little, that his life was turning off with time, it is still difficult to assimilate, this does not go in the upbringing since he came from a home with good moral and spiritual principles, only that he decided to take that path.
First case: The history of this person began when he was a teenager of only twelve years (12) when he began to work as a packer in a market, the economic situation was scarce so he was forced to stop studying and dedicated himself to work, independence, the environment where he developed, there he began to drink liquor without measure comi every boy of his age, from there he began to work as a bus driver, I remember that his addiction was so serious that on one occasion he came home to visit my mother, we had left a container with absolute alcohol on the table and to our astonishment 😱 he drank two shots of it, He told us that it was something inevitable and that he could not live without consuming it all day long, bottles came and went, he got desperate when he did not drink, his wife told us that even in the early morning he got up to drink liquor, A person who drinks all the time, gets desperate, he was restless, lived nervous, emotional dependence, insecurity, emotional blackmail, low tolerance to frustration, Inferiority complex, hostility, in short many more attitudes out of himself, until the day he had a heart attack, he was forbidden to drink any kind of beverage containing liquor, as a result he was weakening to the point of escaping from home in search of liquor, he had other relapses due to anxiety, causing acv, turning off the neurons of the brain, until the day he died 😔, at 64 years old.
Second case, family member in street condition.
This young man was a good worker at the beginning, beautiful, good person, but he was also a violent alcohol consumer, he was married, he lost his marriage because every time he came home drunk he beat his wife, his life changed completely, he woke up at dawn sleeping in the street, his situation became worse than the other person, His situation became worse than the other person's, until he became a street person, he would wake up at dawn, he had the same attitudes, it was worse than the previous case, he did not accept help, once he was taken to an institution that treats these cases, and he was carrying a bottle of rum in his suitcase, he became violent when trying to take it away, they had to let him go, he did not accept the help. These people are dangerous, in the end the mother took him out of the country, hopefully where he is he can get the necessary help.
🍺 ¿Crees que el alcohol es una droga? ¡Justifica tu respuesta!
Do you think that alcohol is a drug? Justify your answer!
I consider it a drug, since any substance that when introduced or consumed in the organism and that produces in the individual modifications in his psychic state, perceptions, emotions , is catalogued as a drug, thus affecting the capacity of self-control, causing euphoria, among others.
Can alcoholism be considered a disease? How can it be controlled?
For me it is not a disease, it is a drug, perhaps it can be controlled if the individual so wishes, but it is not easy, you have to put all the will possible, mostly the individual fails returning to relapse.
Is every drinker considered an alcoholic?
Not every drinker is an alcoholic, there are two types of drinkers, such as for example:
the habitual, this one will be able to stop drinking alcohol if he/she wants to. He/she will not need any help to stop drinking.***
The alcoholic, will not try to stop drinking alcohol, even if he/she wants to, and if he/she stops, it will only be for a short time. In spite of the negative consequences that alcohol is having on his life, this individual will drink again.
-A habitual drinker, will never justify his drinking or try to give convincing reasons why he drinks.
- An alcoholic, will tend to deny his or her drinking. The alcoholic always has a valid reason to justify his drinking.
-The habitual, recognizes that at times he may lose control over his drinking.
-The alcoholic is always under the delusion that he can control his drinking, even though the facts are proving otherwise. He will do everything humanly possible and everything in his power to control his drinking; but he will never control it and if he does, he is not able to maintain it. He will regress at any moment, although if the individual does his best he may be able to quit, I believe the only thing he needs is God's help and his own, and to work as a team to be able to win and defeat this enemy alcohol, which has ended lives, families and friends.

I cordially invite my friends @menfita, @sharifanamin, @ milla16, to join this interesting topic about alcohol.
Greetings @leigth, your entry post is quite an interesting one I must say. Focusing more on the first case you explained in your answer to question 1, I want to point out that I believe it contained a little bit of idea/answer to all the other questions.
He started around age 12 and got addicted due to his environment. He was desperate to have alcohol at all times, which approves alcohol to be a a drug, especially with the way he reacts due to these consumptions. He got sick and even led to his death because of alcoholism, proving that it is indeed somewhat a disease. I agree so much with your points explained and I wish you the very best in this contest.
