Hello!,
good afternoon to all my fellow steemians here in Healthy Steem community, I believe we all are enjoying the day.
Here is my participation on a contest why do we eat food?, organized and published by @sahmie.
We all eat daily either three times a day or depending on how we schedule our meal, all is base on our personal preference. Though is is good to find a method that works best for our needs and promotes a healthy and balanced diet.
Let's answers some questions below...
Basically food refers to any substance that is consumed by living organisms to provide them with the needed nutrients, energy, and growth. Food can be in two states "solid or liquid" and comes in various forms, example vegetables dairy products, fruits, grains, meat and beverages. These are the essential a source of nourishment and also essential for the survival and functioning of all living beings.
Food is not only consumed by humans only, all living things has their different ways they consumed food including plants.
Below are some food in my locality and what it contribute to our body.
| This is vegetable soup popularly know as "Efere Nkong" in my launguage. obviously the soup is rich with vitamins and other classes of nutrients which makes it balanced

| Here is banana porridge popularly know as OTO-MBORO in my launguage, it is made from grated unripe banana, it rich with carbohydrates, vitamins and other classes of nutrients making it good and healthy in our body.

Food is essential for the survival of all living organisms and provides the necessary nutrients and energy for the body to function properly, It is a basic need especially for humans and a fundamental part of our daily lives, the type of food we eat can greatly contribute to our health and wellbeing. It is very good and important to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet to support our physical and mental wellbeing. I love that cocoyam porridge very much it's one of my best food. But to prepare it, it really takes time. Even the vegetable soup is Also great.
