Nails Health
Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "Nails Health" as part of my participation in this 👉contest organized by @afzalqamar
Nail Disease: Causes
The major cause of nail disease isn't when we don't cut our nails,l, but it is usually onychomycosis,, which is caused by fungal organisms, like dermatophytes, which can sometimes be yeast or moods. The fungal thrive in warm, moist environments, and they can infect nails through direct contact with surfaces, footwear, etc, that are contaminated.
Symptoms:
The symptoms of nail disease are as follows:
- White, yellow, or brown discoloration.
- Thickened nails
- Detachment from mail bed
- Distorted nail shape
- Foil odor in some cases
Treatment:
I have never experienced nail disease, but I usually care for my nails by cleaning and cutting my nails, often before and after eating to prevent particles from decaying in my nails. However, some of the treatments for nail disease are as follows:
Topical Antifungal Treatments: This is an over-the-counter or prescription treatment where an affected person is given antifungal creams and nail lacquers.
Oral Antifungal Medications: This has to do with the taking of itraconazole and terbinafinendor some weeks or months.
Surgical Nail Removal: This is when the infected nail is removed to allow new nail to grow.
Preventive Models of Action:
We should keep our feet dry, most especially between our toes.
We should wear breathable footwear and change our socks often.
We should avoid walking barefoot in public showers, locker rooms, and pools.
We should trim our nails properly straight across and not too short.
We should treat athletes fast to prevent the spread of their nails.
We should avoid sharing nail clippers.
Life Experience:
There is this friend of mine who once had onychomycosis due to his constant wearing of tight non breathable shoes during his working hours. At first, my friend ignored the yellowing of his toenails, thinking it was due to his often wearing shoes. As the infection worsened, his nails became painful and brittle after some months of ineffective home remedies. He then visited a dermatologist who helped him out and prescribed terbinafine tablets for him. My friend took the tablets that were prescribed for him for almost four months before his nails then started to grow back.
After reading your post, I’d to cross check my toenails to know if this disease you mention was the reason because I’ve one funny toenail growing there although it doesn’t pain me.
Early last year, it started pulling out on its own, I was expecting a reasonable one to grow out, unfortunately it is taking the same shape like before.
There’s this popular one that affects nails we call “wiklo”, is it also a nail disease??

I think you should see a dermatologist or, better still, go to a pharmacy and get terbinafine tablets. Thanks for your support.
