Food is medicine
Introduction
A warm greetings to all my fellow steemians how are you all doing today hope you are having a good time with your friends and loved ones, it my pleasure to have you guys all in this wonderful contest "food is medicine" organized by @sahmie from #healthy-steem.
Do you believe that the foods we eat have medicinal value?
Yes of course food have medicinal value in such a way that it makes us stronger, healthy, and helps us to grow well, take for example when you are hungry you will start having stomach Pain, headache, feeling weak and tired and other disturbance in your body system but immediately you eat food those symptoms will start disappearing one after the other, that's is why one of our neighbour always said that "food is a medicine for an illness called hungry" though he might be funny but what he said is nothing but the truth, because good food plays important roles in our body and well being as well,
And again before I forget not all food that have or add medicinal value to our body because some people just eat food without even knowing or checking the side effects of what they consume or eat and this is very wrong that is we have the six classes of food to help us know what and what not to consume.
Give 5 examples of foods that you consider to be powerful "medicines" for the body, and what they do.
- first is water since water is among the classes of food i consider it as among the food powerful medicines because it helps boost the immune of human being also keeps us hydrated
- secondly is vegetable which includes spinach and other green leaf which we eat, it very important and healthy for our body because it keeps us healthy, fresh and it also gives use blood
- Beans which provides our body with enough protein is very good for the body, which every human being supposed to eat at least twice a week.
- fruits, good and healthy fruits add nutritional value to our body most especially the aged ones which makes them strong and healthy
- yam which most people don't like, is very good for body because it provides the body with carbohydrates which makes us stronger and healthier at same time.
How can we use food in our daily lives to keep healthy?
By always eating good and healthy fruits and foods, the time you eat the also determines because someone of us eat late before going to bed which in very bad and unhealthy for your body as well, avoid eating spoilt food which most of use do at times we may even say is not that bad let me tell you prevention is much more better than cure, avoid unnecessary combination of food which some of us called food combo where you will see somebody eating all kind of rubbish in the name of food combinations, and last but not the list always drink water while and after eating is helps the food digest well.
Do you think it's important for schools to teach about how food can be like medicine for our bodies? Why?
Without saying much I will say is very very important just like me I was first taught balance diet and classes of food when I was still in primary school, which helps me a lot up till this time to know the type of food to eat and also the one to reject, it will help the students to be aware of need of eating good and healthy food which will help reduce illness and sickness in our various community.
