Hello, my good Steemit friends! I am happy to have you here reading through my post, in which I talked about "Share Blood, Share Life" which is organized by @sahmie.
What is blood, and how can we replenish lost blood?
Blood is what keeps every living creature alive. It is known as the transport liquid that is pumped by the heart of a living being to all parts of the body. This means the blood circulates through the human body. I.e. our body which passes nutrients to our cells. Blood is divided into four components which are:
- white blood cell
- Red blood cell
- Plasma and
- Platelets
As a human beings, we are we can replenish lost blood through the process mentioned below.
- Drinking of non-alcoholic drinks and also drinking of enough water.
- Sleep for a long time
- Eat good food that is full of iron, vitamin B-12, proteins, etc. daily.
What are the functions of blood in the human body?
The key function of blood in the human body is the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the human body. Besides this function of blood in the human body, it also plays a crucial function in the human body which some of the functions are. Defense of disease, distribution of heart, and maintenance of homeostasis in the human body.
What do you understand by blood transfusion and is it a good thing?
Blood transfusion simply means donation of blood is what I understand. Blood transfusion happens in the hospital where a medical doctor or practitioner collects donated blood and gives it to a patient that lacks blood. Simply put, is a process whereby donated blood is given to me or a sick patient through a narrow tie that is placed within my vein or that of a person who needs blood.

Some of the benefits of blood transfusion are:
- Blood transfusion helps save the life of a patient and limits blood loss.
- Blood transfusion also helps stop illness that prevents someone from making blood.
- It helps to replace blood loss due to surgery or accident.
