Sugar is important to the body but how we consume it makes it becomes a problem to our health, though I love taking sugar because my body needs it but when I am of age I will reduce how I take it.

What is sugar and what are its main types?

Sugar is a sweet substance that is somehow brownish in color, you can find it in many foods and beverages like rice, Garry. This type of carbohydrate provides energy to the body. There are several types of sugar in which I will be mentioning below.

  • sucrose
  • fructose
  • glucose,

Though they have different chemical structure and taste.

Let's look at the differences

  • SUCROS : This is usually known as table sugar, this particular sugar is made from sugar cane and is commonly used in production of food.

  • FRUCTOSE : this particular sugar you will see it in fruits

  • GLUCOSE : this type of sugar is the main sugar that circulates in the blood which is main purpose is to give the body energy.

What are the effects of excessive sugar consumption on health?

What I know is that too much consumption of sugar can have some negative effects on health. With what I was being taught in school is that too much sugar can lead to obesity, and secondly one can start having diabetes, heart attack and tooth decay. The only thing is that if you want to eat sugar it should be in smaller quantity though children can eat sugar because they need it for their growing stage

What are some healthy alternatives to refined sugar?

For one to reduce the negative effects of refined sugar, it is adviceable to consider healthier alternatives. There are some natural alternatives to refined sugar and the natural way is honey, maple syrup, and dates. These alternatives do not only provide sweetness but also comes with additional nutrients and antioxidants that can help have a healthy life.

Is it necessary to consume some sugar? Explain your reasons.

For adults I don't think it is not necessary to consume sugar in large amounts, some sugar is essential for the body to function properly. Let's look at that of A Glucose, we all know that glucose is the primary source of energy for our cells and its helps the brain to function effectively. Though it is good we consume sugar in moderation and to choose healthier alternatives when possible.
