SEC-S13/W4| "The Role of the Caregiver ♥️" in my favourite Healthy Steem Community.
So let's start.
A caregiver is a person who cares for another person when that person is ill or unable to care for themselves due to health reasons . A caregiver can play a role in another person's life by taking care of the other person's basic needs and improving their quality of life.
Caring for patients can make a positive difference in their lives.Caregiver is a mostly a calm and understanding person.The role of caregiver can be difficult at sometimes.
👩⚕️ Have you played the role of caregiver or do you know someone who has put it into practice? Tell us about it.
Yes, I played this role of caregiver when my mother had a piles operation a few years ago, for which the doctor told her to rest for a month.She has not been operated for this disease for a long time because she felt that if she does the operation, who will take care of the house and them, As my sister and I are young, they thought we would not be able to take care of them.
I have given the last semester papers so I told my mom that you should get an operation we can take care of you.So then my mother got ready for the operation and after some time she had the operation so me and my younger sister took care of the her.
When the operation is done, most of the patients feel pain, so we should give them medicine on time and check their blood pressure regularly.
I used to make her exercise daily as directed by the doctor. I used to make her healthy food that the doctor told her to eat.
👩⚕️ Do you think that caring for a sick person should be a team effort or the work of a single person?
We can take care of a sick person alone but I think when we take care of a sick person as a team, better results can come out.When we take care of them as a team, we can divide our tasks /responsibilities and we can take better care of the patient.
When we divide our tasks , we work in our turn so that one person is not overburdened and does not suffer from fatigue.
Like when my mother was sick, we divided her work among the whole family as I used to cook and clean the house and my sister did the ironing and washing.Because of this, we can better manage a patient's health and care as a team.
👩⚕️ What qualities do you think a caregiver should have?
A caregiver plays an important role in patients health , such as caring for a sick or elderly person, so that person must also have many characteristics.
A care-giver must be caring, concerned about improving another person's life, and have the ability to care.Caregivers must understand and cooperate with the other person's feelings.
He/she should consider the needs of the other person and what the patient needs at that time.Caregiver should be punctual he should give the patient his medication on time.Caregiver should be kind, soft in nature and friendly with the patient and with other people so that the patient feels safe with them.
They should know when a patient needs them and should keep a smile on their face and keep himself positive enough to make someone else's day great.
👩⚕️ What advice would you give to a person who is performing this role?
Being a caregiver is a huge responsibility and sometimes a difficult role.All I want to say to the caregiver is that you should be kind to others and friendly to your patients.
They should pay attention to the other person, what they expect from you is to take care of their needs and understand their feelings, what they are going through and try to make them feel better.
They should improve their communication, talk to the person they are caring for and know their feelings, what they feel .
You should keep a smile on your face and make your attitude positive , due to which the patient can have a positive effect in their life and he/ she can also enjoy his life.
