Steemit Engagement Challenge / S13W1 - "Health and our Environment
Greetings Steemit friends
Global health is a vast sector not just from the emphasis of the UN, many countries have seen the importance of investing in this area of study. We all want to be in a world free of sickness and injuries. In other words, we are looking for a state where we have stable physical and mental health.
🌱🏞️ Tell us in your words what you understand about Global health.
In my understanding, Global health is the study of the health situation of all races in the world. This area of study puts interest in population, geolocation, and the availability of health care. Health care is of different levels depending on the health challenges and solutions implemented. Equity is one of the aspects to look at in Global health, as everyone needs to have the same opportunity to live and have access to health care.
🌱🏞️ Which point is most important to you? Give your reasons.
Global health equity (Making health care accessible to everyone):
Allowing everyone to have health care is most important to me. Everyone has the right to live, no one gives life to another. so, for this reason. No one should be limited to the accessibility to healthcare.
We might be different in culture, geolocation, and availability of resources, which in turn play over our decision on how to accept health care. A good example was during the COVID-19 period. Some communities had access to the vaccine but refused to take the vaccine.
So the fact that they try to make sure that health care is available to vulnerable populations, in faraway locations helps to address most of the social and environmental health challenges.
🌱🏞️ Which point is the least important to you? Give your reasons.
Investing in health care workers:
This point is important but less important to me because saving humans needs to be a profession with part. Rather than investing in workers, who have proven to be more interested in money than human lives. It is not funny when you see healthcare workers going on a strike in a nation going through a health crisis. I know of a good number of countries where health workers threaten to go on strike during the COVID-19 period. I understand this worker needs to eat, but no one needs to die because of selfish reasons.
🌱🏞️ If you can add one more point, what will it be? Why?
Investing in health care facilities: Providing health care is always periodical, but having the facilities in place will play a better role in Global health. Many nations had to improvise during a crisis because of a lack of facilities to handle the crisis. Africans feared that during the COVID-19 period, many lives would be lost because of a lack of facilities to handle the pandemic. So, I think the World Health Organization (WHO) should look at investing in healthcare facilities in vulnerable communities and far away to local communities.
Global health will continue to be a world challenge because many have different ways and beliefs on handling solutions to health challenges.

God is the only giver of life and no one truly bro. Sometimes people act like the can give life to another and treat them badly. Health care is necessary for everyone no matter where you come from. It's our duty to care for one another especially those in need
I agree with you health care workers have gone out of their profession to settling more on money. Many of them now do pay attention to their patients like before. I have witnessed it myself and I had to deny the nurse who neglected me from attending to me. Rather I think they should be made to know the importance of their work which is saving lives. We are really lacking that amongst our healthcare providers.
About health care facilities we really need them especially in rural areas where they have to go to far off place to get medical attention always
Thanks for sharing bro
Making health care facilities accessible to everyone especially those in the rural areas is very important as you made mention in your post. Though i took a different opinion but i couldn't agree more. You did well on the additional point which is to invest more on health care facilities, i also think this is very important and I am of the same opinion. Good luck
Global health is a world concern and will take a long time to handle given that we have different cultures. Thanks for dropping my post.
@crismenia my friend, how are you doing? thanks for taking out time to go through my post.
Global health is a global challenge that I think the UN and the different member governments need to put their heads together to face. This will be the only way to overcome this challenge. Developing countries have to be prioritized so they can reach remote areas and great a greater impact in offering better health care to communities.
