There was an herb called "solder" that produced a sky blue flower, from which a slightly viscous liquid flowed that was used as eye drops to combat conjunctivitis or when the eyes were red. This plant, which in some countries is called "Santa Lucía", according to some botanists, is also used for skin rashes and injuries caused by burns.

Yes, I've even heard it as well, I've heard it's an awe-striking plant! The depiction of their iron-blue flowers which also were adopted by Greek women as an early treatment for conjunctivitis, while remedy for skin problems is, indeed, fascinating. We sure are amazed how mother nature can accommodate all the remedies to any particular illness. I am just appreciating the intriguing view of these culture-rich customs that have been passed down generations.

Tal como dicen, la naturaleza es sabia y ella nos provee un sinfín de remedios para las diferentes dolencias que afectan nuestro organismo. Desde tiempos ancestrales esto se ha aprovechado muy bien; también la industria farmacéutica busca en la naturaleza muchos de los componentes que intervienen en sus medicamentos.
