How is everyone? I hope you all are fine by Allah Almighty's grace and I'm fine too Alhamdulillah. Today I will share my participation in the contest organized by @sahmie in the healthysteem community. So let's start about theme of the contest.

  • Do you believe that the foods we eat have medicinal value?

Yes, it is right that the food we take have medicinal value. Different foods have different medicinal value with different nutrients, minerals and vitamins that produce positive impacts on our physical and mental well being.The vegetables and fruits contain nutrients, minerals and vitamins that make our immune system strong, make sure our digestive system healthy and healthy food has ability to prevent us from diseases.The fruit berries which has a lot of antioxidants in it have ability to reduce inflammation.

  • Give 5 examples of foods that you consider to be powerful "medicines" for the body, and what they do.

  • Whole grains

The grains like oats that make our digestive system healthy and strong. The magnesium is very important for our well being and the grains contain magnesium .

  • Turmeric

They are rich in antioxidants properties which is very important in the maintainance of mental health functions, can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disorders.

  • Spanish

The essentials nutrients present in the Spanish such as iron, A and C vitamins and magnesium is also present in it. They support the immunity system and helpful in the regulation of blood pressure.

  • Sweet potatoes

The sweet potatoes contain vitamin A and C and fibres. They can hold up the health of eyes and helping in regulations of levels of blood sugar.

  • Fish

The omega -3 fatty acids which are known due of their anti-inflammatory properties and they have important role in maintaining our mental health.

  • How can we use food in our daily lives to keep healthy?

Yes, To keep healthy we can use food in our daily lives. Always it is significant to maintain a healthy balanced diet by taking food in groups such as fruits, vegetables fish, grains and some fats which are healthy. To stay hydrated is very essential for our digestive system. Drink plenty of water, healthy juices. Portion control is very important step in the healthy diet, it avoid us from overeating.

  • Do you think it's important for schools to teach about how food can be like medicine for our bodies? Why?

Yes, it's important for Schools to educate students about how food can be like medicine for our bodies.
Education about the medicinal value of the food is very important for the students as they aware of the importance of the foods, that how the healthy food can prevent us from chronic diseases. Education about the medicinal value of food is very important that by taking healthy food we can make our immune system strong, our mental health functions can be improved and can be effective in the old age.
