What do you understand by osteoporosis?

As for me, osteoporosis is one of the most spread diseases in the sphere of bone illnesses, and in such case the density and quality of the bones are decreased, and a person can bone a bones and it was crucial for me to know that this condition is typical for people when the body loses bone mass quickly or not creating enough new bone.h.

In fact, the condition is found to be more prevalent in women post menopause stage and the first symptom may not be felt until the bones fractures most often in the hip, spine or even wrist.

Write some common causes of it.

Here are some common causes of osteoporosis:

  1. Age: Osteoporosis is a disease mostly associated with elderly since the bone density reduces with age.

  2. Gender: It is more prevalent in women than in men, and onset of the disease is commonly seen after cessation of menses when estrogen levels are low.

  3. Hormonal changes: This is because a scarcity of oestrogen in females and testosterone in males force the body to surrender bones and possess fragile ones, organised as osteoporosis.

  4. Lack of calcium and vitamin D: This implies that a person will get infected with osteoporosis if he or she has a low intake of calcium and vitamin D in the diet program.

  5. Lack of physical activity: If one is also not involved in any kind of exercise most of the time one will develop weak bones and if one reaches a certain age or has a family history could easily develop Osteoporosis.

How can you diagnose it or its symptoms?

Some of the non-pharmacological management of osteoporosis involves use of medicines interacting with medical history, undergoing physical examinations, and undergoing bone density testing, in school I learnt that it may include DXA scan as well as laboratory testing and such as blood test directed towards calcium, vitamin D and thyroid hormones respectively.

So osteoporosis, all clients lose height gradually and have a stooped posture, they have a backache, their bones fracture easily with little injury, and they are generally less active than before.

So however osteoporosis can simply be defined as the ‘silent thief ’ 😀 because it hardly make one feel any symptoms until he or she suffers a breakage and most people should have proper assessment through a health care provider and I learnt that it's especially women after menopause, men after 65 years of age, people with family history of fractures strictly due to osteoporosis.

Its treatment and prevention?

Osteoporosis is such a condition in which the bones become thin, and are more easily broken than healthy bones and here are some treatments and prevention strategies for osteoporosis:

TREATMENT :

Medications: Osteoporosis treatment entail bisphosphonate, denosumab then hormonal therapy as you can now see these drugs are administered aiming at increasing bone mineral density and decreasing chances of fracturing thus know it.

Calcium and Vitamin D: Calcium supplement and vitamins D that good for bones, should be taken in healthy amounts. If there are shortfall then your doctor may give you supplements.

Exercise: Weight control exercises and the kind of exercises that exert pressure on the bones make them stronger hence the resistance to fractures.

Healthy lifestyle: normally someone has to avoid smoking and also avoid taking a lot of alcohol for they put the bones in a vulnerable state, and for those that smokes you can as well see that it was well written that smoker's are liable to die young so avoid it.

PREVENTION :

Balanced Diet: Calcium and vitamin D for the proper bone growth is another nutrient that the human body needs in large amount. Calcium is however required by the body in natural form; it can also be sourced from milk, vegetables and other food products that has been supplemented with the mineral.

Regular Exercise: As I already said so now you will know that exercises is really the key as well exercises like walking, jogging or dancing, of course, along with exercises for strength and bone health.

Avoid Smoking and Excessive Alcohol: Smoking is also responsible for decrease in bone mass, and causes osteoporosis together with heavy drinking.
