Greetings everyone hope you are all doing great I'm glad to participate in this contest that @suboohi organized.

WHAT I UNDERSTAND BY HEARTBURN

When I say heartburn I mean the burning discomfort in the middle of the chest arising from the regurgitation of stomach juices into the oesophagus and this usually occurs due to the dysfunction or overstretched state of the lower oesophageal sphincter, which is a ring of muscles at the joints of the oesophagus and the stomach.

Some stimuli including certain foods, large meals, massive body weight, pregnancy and tobacco smoking can lead to acts of arson in the oesophagus and the condition is usually made worse when one is lying down or leaning forward.

CAUSE

It is mostly as a result of acid reflux where the lower part of the esophagus is exposed to the action of the acid from the stomach hence the burn like pain it can also as a result of some specific types of foods such as spicy foods or foods high in acids, overeating, taking fatty foods, Caffeine, alcohol or carbonated beverages. The others are obesity, pregnancy, smoking, stress, the use of anticoagulant medications, and wearing of tight undergarment.

This kind of heartburn can be as a result of; Hiatal Hernia, Gastroesophageal reflux disease or a weak lower oesophageal sphincter. Healthy daily practices like taking of healthy foods, exercise, illnesses that tend to have an impact on lifestyles and general well-being have an impact on the occurrence of heartburn.

PREVENTION.

There are general preventive measures and precautions one can take in an attempt of avoiding heartburns and they are, first for the reduction of the symptoms one should avoid foods which are spicy, fatty and creamed or acidic foods and some of them include: taking several small meals a day, do not lie down immediately after taking a meal, sleep with some raised up part of your body such as your head and also do not be over-weight as this puts pressure on the stomach and again Cigarette smoking should be stopped and also alcohol consumption should be minimized.

Loose clothes should also be worn so as not to have any pressures exerted to the abdomen. Coping with stress have to be done through exercises such as performing taking a walk or even meditation. Drink plenty of water and try to increase the intake of foods loaded with fibers. Take brands that are available from the counter or visit a physician in case you require prescription drugs committing to exercise is also a good way of preventing heartburn.
