Obesity is a health disorder involving immoderate body fats that increases the risk of health issues. It is often the results of taking in much more calories than been burned out in exercises and normal daily activities. This chronic health disorder progresses over time and is usually self-treatable and self-diagnosable. My article today will be discussing on the contest topic with the theme "How Obesity Affects Our Health!!" organized and published by @edgargonzalez

Do you consider that obesity is a disease caused by bad eating habit?

Consumption of beverages , unhealthy food such as sugar-sweetened food, fast/highly processed food in large quantities can lead to weight gain and obesity. Diet is a major factor that contributes to the development of overweight and obesity. Also this bad eating habits may also lead to other chronic diseases such as cancer (over 13 types of cancer, including breast cancer, endometrial i.e uterine cancer etc) and heart diseases.

What negative consequences can obesity bring to our physical and mental health?

Obesity is dangerous, the negative consequences it has on an individual are bad.

  1. Mental illness: Some research have showed that weigh can be linked to the mental health, mood and anxiety. This means if you have a larger body size(obesity) you are likely to face mental illnesses like depression and anxiety
  2. Causes of death (mortality)
  3. High blood pressure (Hypertension)
  4. High chances of stroke
  5. Heart diseases
  6. Cancer
  7. Type 2 diabetes
  8. Gall bladder diseases.

What recommendation can you give to people who are obese?

The only advice I'll give a person who is obese is to eat a balanced, calorie-controlled meal/diet free from calories as recommended by your health specialist (specifically a dietician), join a weight loss group, take up physical bodily activities such as swimmers, running, jogging, walking and the rest of them for at least 3 - 5 hours per week. These actions/activities, will burn out the calories and fat in the body of someone who's obese.

If you were obese, will you agree to have invasive surgeries or would you simply diet and exercise?

If I were to be obese, I will prefer the natural means of eliminating the fats than going for weight loss surgeries. I'll take up the advice I mentioned above and use it to achieve weight loss and burn calories. In cases of other people whereby there are very obese, the best alternative will be an invasive surgery because it will provide a significant weight loss and help improve other health quality.

Conclusion

The cause of obesity is complicated in structure involving elaborate relations among genetic backdrop, diet, hormones, social and environmental factors.

Obesity is indeed a major health concern, with the criticality of it heath complications associated. The best gift a man could give himself to avoid this chronic health problem is to monitor his/her diet and engage in physical activities.....

Consumption of unhealthy food Leads to obesity. I do agree with you. I have witnessed this thing in my practical life. I consider obesity is a disability. We should take care of our diet and health.
