WHAT ARE THE MAIN BLOOD TYPES, AND HOW DO WE KNOW WHICH ONE WE HAVE?
Source
There are different blood types, but the main ones are A, B, AB, and O. the only way you can know your blood type is to visit your doctor or clinic and do a blood test that is called ABO typing. It is determined by the genes we inherit from our parents.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KNOW OUR BLOOD TYPE?
It's important to know your blood type because of emergency for example if you injured or accident occurs that requires blood transfusion and you don't know your blood group it will still cause a delay for treating your illness. Because the doctor or the pharmacist will asked your blood type if you don't know your blood type they'll still do test to confirm your blood type you can see the delay but if you know your blood group for example your blood group is A , there's no need for checking your blood group the doctor will know that since your blood group is A, the only person that can donate blood for you is someone who has A , AB or O.
HOW DO BLOOD TYPES AFFECT OUR HEALTH, AND WHY DO THEY MATTER IN MEDICAL TREATMENTS?
Blood type can affect our health in different ways most especially people with blood type A, have been cleared for having a higher risk evolving heart diseases, but people with blood type O have the lower risk of evolving blood globs. It matters a lot in medical aspects, knowing your patients' blood type is very important, especially when it comes in blood transfusion or organ transplant, because clashing blood type can lead to serious hitch, for instance, a transfusion reaction. These might result in life malignant or something else.
WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE CONSIDERED TO BE UNIVERSAL BLOOD DONORS WHILE OTHERS CAN RECEIVE BLOOD FROM ONLY A FEW?
This is because people with blood type O are considered universal blood donors because it is only an individual with different blood types that can also receive blood from O negative without any stimulating an immune response (which can also be called the innate and the adaptive). But someone who's O blood type can not receive blood from A, B, or AB its only can individual with the same O blood type that can donate blood to individual with O blood type. Now you have seen all the blood types can receive from individual with an O blood type but An individual with O blood group can not receive from any of the blood type except individual with the same O blood type that's why its called universal donor blood, some individuals with A,blood type can not receive or donate blood from individuals with B blood type likewise individuals with B blood type can also not donate or receive from people with A blood type. So, individuals with AB blood type can receive blood from other antibodies such as individuals with A, B , AB, and O, which is what will be called universal acceptor.

Holaa muy bueno tu aporte acerca de los grupos sanguineos, los cuales heredamos de nuestros padres y como bien dices es importante conocerlos por si se presenta alguna emergencia de salud, de manera que pueda agilizar el tratamiento que necesitemos.
You are right, it is very important to know our blood group incase of emergency and other incidents that may occur in order to avoid the consequences that are attached to it
