Contest: Stay Free From Food Poisoning.
Special thanks to @mesola for hosting this contest, I believe a lot of people will learn from it. In 2022 while in secondary school I suffered food Poisoning and it was a terrible experience I wouldn't wish for an enemy. In this article I will talking this to stay free from Food poisoning in terms of prevention and treatment.
When harmful bacteria, viruses, toxins etc get into the food we consume that is when food poisoning occurs. The food has been poisoned by these harmful substances or organisms. So it is a very dangerous condition when we consume contaminated food or drinks.
It is said ignorance is not an excuse so knowledge of the symptoms, prevention and treatment of food poisoning is essential to protecting of health. It is worthy to note that contaminated or poisoned foods may taste and smell the same. Making it difficult to detect
Symptoms of Food Poisoning: |

Some of the systems of Food Poisoning may include:
1. Nausea and vomiting: You will feel like sick and have the urge to throw up (vomit).
2. Stomach Pains: This which comes from cramping of the abdomen.
3. Diarrhoea: Also called purging, it is the passing of bloody or watery stool and it can lead to fluid loss(dehydration).
4. feverish: This feeling, is due to the rise in our body temperature.
Prevention of Food Poisoning: |

Prevention they say is better than cure, by preventing something bad from occurring we are able to save ourselves from passing through the curing process. Example if you prevent yourself from getting STD, you won't have to go through the process of living with it the rest of your life like in the case of HIV.
Some ways we can prevent food posioning is by handling or food well, wash every food and discard infected or damaged food. Also keep your kitchen and all cooking utensils clean.
Some meats like pork require longer cooking time and higher temperature than beef. We should cook our food right to destroy harmful bacteria.
In that same we should also avoid food that is not properly cooked or undercooked. This food harbours harmful substances that can poison our systems.
And the last buy not the least, store all your foods properly and aware from pest like rats, cockroaches, etc

Since I am not a doctor I could not write on this until I called my friend who is a medical student and according to him the following are good ways of preventing food posioning.
⚕️ Drink plenty of fluid to replace lost ones due to diarrhoea or vomiting.
⚕️ Stay away from oily and spicy food until symptoms reduce.
⚕️Take a good rest so that your body can recover and your antibodies can fight the poison.
⚕️. And if it is very serious please seek medical attention by dialing the emergency line of your region or going to the hospital. This is important if the symptoms stay for more than 3 days, if you have dryness of mouth and if your temperature goes very high.

To conclude my writing I will say that food posioning is not good, as such we should try and prevent it by using the above stated ways.
