Family Planning simply means the practice or action that couples take in controlling the number of children that they have or want and the intervals between their births, specifically, using conception or sterilization.

Below are some benefits of family planning for individuals and society

One of the key benefits of family planning is birth control: you will agree with me that it is the joy of every parent to provide all the needs of their children, also provide a good education for their children, and watch their children live a happy and healthy life and all these can only be achieved if only parents give birth to the number of children that they are sure of providing their needs in every ramification of their life.

Birth control or birth spaces Is not an easy thing for couples because sexual intercourse is an act that is not easy for them to resist but family planning has made it very easy for couples to control their birth rate and continue to satisfy their sexual urge at the same time. It also helps them to give birth to the number of children that they want.

Family Planning contributes to sustainable development and environmental conservation in the following ways:

Birth control contributes massively to sustainability development and environmental conservation because for parents to always give birth to the number of children that they can afford to provide for their needs is an achievement that will help sustainable development and environmental conservation in society.

Family Planning also helps in the promotion of economic security for families.

What are the different methods of family planning available, and how do they work?

There are five methods of family planning available, namely

Withdrawal method of family planning This method is achieved by taking the penis out of the vagina and ejaculate outside the vagina.

Calendar method of family planning It can also be referred to as the natural method of family planning and it can be achieved through tracking their menstrual history to predict when ovulation will take place.

Temperature method of family planning This method can help a woman or couple to track the basal temperature each day and also to predict when ovulation will take place.

Cervical mucus method of family planning This method can help a woman to observe secretions from her vagina at all times starting from the day that her menstrual period stops.

Lactational amenorrhea method family planning method Not every couple can achieve this method because of its technicality and it has to be done correctly.

This method can be achieved through a mother to continue breastfeeding for a temporary period to prevent pregnancy.

Family planning has encouraged a lot of single ladies to always engage themselves in unprotected sexual intercourse that leads to unintended pregnancy and also contact with sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, Urinary tract infections, etc.
