Introduction

Calcium is an essential nutrient that is present in our human body that takes care of our bones formation and metabolism,it also plays other vital roles in our body.

How calcium is beneficial for good health

To start with, calcium is critical for bone health, that is why 99%of the calcium in human body is stored in the bones, thus we can say that calcium is essential for the development, growth and maintenance of the bone.

This is why as a child grows, calcium contributes to the development of their bones.

Another good reason why calcium is beneficial for good health is that,it helps in regulating muscle contractions. This is because when a nerve stimulates a muscle, the body realeses calcium which in turn helps the protein in the muscle to carryout contraction.

Give some examples of Calcium rich foods?

As important as calcium is to our bones,it should be in our good interest to know the types of food to eat in other to gather more of it. Below is a list of some calcium rich foods..👇

Milk--- milk happens to be source of calcium as it is easily absorbed and digested

Canned fish--- if a person is non-vegetarian,the best way to gain calcium is by taking canned fish because the bones of these canned fish are edible and soft

We also have cheese

Seeds such as chia seeds, celery and poppy seeds are rich in calcium
Soya milk
&

Yogurt. All these mentioned are rich in calcium.

Problems that may cause by deficiency of calcium?

As we all know,our body does not produce these calcium's,it comes from our diets. And when we fail to eat the right food's, there will be deficiency of it. Below is a list of problems that may be caused as a result it calcium deficiency.👇
