SEC-S13 / W5 | "How can alcohol cause damage to your health! 🍺"
Alcohol has always played a significant role in human civilization, I believe that attitudes toward it have changed significantly in the modern period. On the one hand, individuals are opting to drink in moderation or not at all as a result of increased understanding of the health hazards associated with alcohol consumption. However, alcohol-related issues such as alcoholism and excessive drinking have also increased.
In medicine, an alcohol dependent person is officially diagnosed with "alcohol use disorder. though, I believe it's difficult to determine the exact moment at which someone qualifies as a "alcoholic." Because some drink excessively and are still able to carry out their everyday activities, others may drink less and yet suffer grave effects from their drinking. A person may also be on the way to alcoholism if they drink alone, cover up their drinking, or find that they need to drink more and more in order to get the same results.
Scientifically, alcohol is unquestionably a drug. Because of its classification as a "central nervous system depressant," it slows down the processes of the body and brain. Like other substances, alcohol can have some major health effects and is also addictive. However, I am aware that there are others who distinguish between "alcohol" and "drugs" in terms of their social acceptability.
According to scientific and medical organizations, alcoholism is regarded as a disease. Known as "alcohol use disorder," it is a chronic brain condition that is frequently diagnosed. Due to its dual impact on the body and the mind, it is categorized as an illness. It may result in alterations to brain chemistry that make quitting alcohol more difficult. Additionally, when someone attempts to quit drinking, it might create withdrawal symptoms.
No, not everyone who consumes alcohol is an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a distinct medical illness that is characterized by factors such as the quantity and frequency of an individual's alcohol consumption, their perception of their control over their drinking, and the impact of their drinking on their lives. An someone is not always an alcoholic just because they consume alcohol. However, it can indicate an alcohol issue if someone's drinking is affecting their capacity to take care of themselves, their relationships, or their place at work.
I will be inviting, @bossj23 @blessingogah-1 @sirexcellence01 @emmy01 to participate in this.
You've done more than justice to this engagement topic. You hit the nail on its head when you pointed it out that drinking alcohol varies between persons. Some may drink as you said and are still vibrant. In fact, they drink do they can have motivation to do work effectively but when you want to give it a try, you may be the sufferer. Even though drinking alcohol excessively doesn't affect some initially, it definitely will on the long run. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and inviting me as well. Wishing you best of luck in this challenge.
