The Magic Hot Water Does
Hello Steemians from all over the world, Greetings to you all. I trust you all feel blessed and Super fantastic. Today I want to talk about the importance of hot water. Many people bathe in hot water daily while others don't. Let's see it's benefits.
Most often, people bathe in hot water only when they are cold. I for one rarely do so, even when am cold self. While some people take a hot bath after the day's strenuous work which is very advisable.
Here are some reasons you should opt for a hot water bath often, even when you are not cold;
✨ It lowers blood sugar:
Is this for real? Oh yeah it's for real.
In a recent study done by Loughborough university, scientists investigated the effect a hot bath has on blood sugar control (an important measure of metabolic fitness) and on energy expended (number of calories burned).
So it was discovered that a one hour soaking in hot water burns 140 calories just as a half hour walk.
✨It makes us fall asleep faster: When your tensed and tired body enters a warm bath or shower, the hot water increases the body temperature and relaxes the muscle.
This also helps to soothe us mentally. Soaking for 20 minutes is just enough, but don't sleep there.
✨It also lowers blood pressure:
Studies show that soaking in a hot bath can lower your blood pressure.
This is good for those with heart conditions, and even those who don't, but it's also important you consult your doctor to know if it will be okay for you, because a hot bath also raises the rate of heart beat.
✨it helps to relieve muscle tension, that's why your aching body becomes light after a hot bath. It's also a good pain relief for aching joints, wounds etc.
✨It gives you a cleaner and healthier skin. The hot water will help open your spores and wash out dirt and toxins giving you a healthier skin.
✨It improves blood circulation because water causes a kind of pressure on the body, thereby increasing the capacity of the heart.
This makes the heart work faster and stronger inside water. It's a light exercise for the heart, and a few dips a week is super good for the heart.
✨It helps to moisturize the skin and keep it moist for a long time, preventing dry skin.
✨It reduces cold/ flu symptoms.
✨It reduces headaches: Since most headaches are caused by narrowing the blood vessels, the effects of the hot water on our blood vessels helps to relieve the pressure on the blood vessels thereby curing our headache.
✨It makes us feel good about ourselves: That feeling of relief you get from a hot bath after a stressful day is very medicinal to our physical and mental health.
