Hey! Good morning to all healthy steemian. It is another brand new week. I think the topic for the week is enticing, and I just practised one of the ancient medicines upon waking up, which is drinking of one glass of water. A methodoloy that has been in practice for so long.

👩⚕️ In your country, ¿what type of ancient medicine did they perform?

My country has been in the practice of ancient medicines. No wonder during the times of the pandemic when covid-19 was at its peak, there were different concussions rolled.out by the native medicine practitioners.

However, I can not say that these medicnes were not effective. If they are not effective even up until now, the locals won't be patronizing them. It is because there are patronage, that's why we still have some pockets of their presence everywhere.

Basically, the medince practised by this native medicine practitioners is medicines of herbs and roots. They inherited this knowledge from the old or forefathers who were users of them. So this trend of medicines hasn't died.

👩⚕️ ¿Can you give your honest opinion according to your beliefs? (your point of view is valuable to us)

Unfortunately, we didn't grow up in the era that proceeded our forefathers but in a jet age where modern medince is the order of the day. I have less trust for anything that is far from the modern medicine that I know .and given my medical education as well, I don't think I have a single belief for ancient medicine now.

This is because of the unrefined way by which things are done. There is no clear path of drug administration done whilenusung them. We can not be asking everyone to take a shot of glass while trying to drink from. Some of these mixtures, which are roots and herb extracts, are soaked in an alcoholic solution.

There is no doubt that this may work for some, but I am still not comfortable with the entire use of ancient drugs. Ordinarily, these roots and herbs that come with a higher concentration of ingredients needed more refining and diluting before consumption, but we find people administering this, which may have further complications withvour organs in the future.

👩⚕️ ¿Can you describe some elements they used at the time? What was the special use of each one?

One leaf and bark of stem I know that is well used is the NEEM tree. Aside from the use of its leafs for the treatment of malaria; a commonly found sickness in my region, the tree dried stems are also used. To them, it serve a great purpose and have likened the use of this plant (leaf and stems) by modern technology to the treatment of malaria and the production of anti malaria drugs we have today.

I also see the Lemon Grass as another widely used leaf that is dried and preserved for the treatment of some sickness. In fact, in the mixture or concussion of the malaria drugs that are given to people, it comes with the neem and lemon grass.

I was opportuned to witness a time where the neem and lemon grass leaves would be boiled for long, poured into the bucket with that hotness, and they allow the sick patient to sit close to it where he or she is covered with a blanket. This was to allow him or her to inhale all the extract coming out of the cooked leaves.

👩⚕️ Design a scenario about "Ancient medicine."

This scenario is similar to what I just said about boiling neem and lemo grass leaves and allowing patients to be enclosed in it while still hot to enable patients to inhale all that is escaping through vapor. I learned this process also helps to remove flu from patients from lungs or respiratory tracks.

Another scenario is the pounding of leaves and other roots in the treatment of disclocation. I keep wondering how this is done and how effective it has become. I see people presently going to this native medicine practinioers to handle bone related issues. And some testimonies are that it is more effective than the modern method. All i see is the pounding of herbs and its mixing with massage oils.

This is also the same for those using them for fever, malaria, typhoid, sugar, and infectious treatnent. It is amazing how people belive so much in this muxture. Infact they call it "washing and setting". That is, it washes out impurities from the body and sets it up for better performance.

Thank you lovely healthy friends. This is my entry, and I want to invite @impersonal and @rossenye.

Hahaha! Oh yes I remember the incident of the pandemic covid19, many people claimed it was working, anyway I didn't use it so I don't know if it did.

Pounding of leaves and other roots in the treatment of disclocation, for me it's the first of it's kind. I have never imagined this before.

Ancient medicine will always be ancient because of the deep knowledge behind the combinations.

Success!

Covid-19 brought out so many remedies. Some worked which I felt are for immune boosters. Thanks for your comment.

Hello @chima09 ,hope you are having a good day is.Your post about old medicine in your country is interesting. It's neat how they use plants and roots that have been passed down for generations. I understand why you trust modern medicine more especially with your medical background. Safety is important when giving people medicine. It's cool how you talked about using neem and lemongrass for things like malaria. The stories you shared about breathing in steam from boiling leaves and using pounded herbs for massages are interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences🤗🌸🌺.

Thank you, for your shared feedbacks. All those traditional things are like foundations to modern advacement. My only worry as stated is the administration (dosage) and concentration of ingredients per volume.

Salam...
