Jamón Asado
Today I had the pleasure of witnessing the traditional preparation of roasted pig (jamón asado) on a spit over an open fire. The process was impressive to me, as the meat was slowly roasted for several hours, which gave it tenderness and rich flavor. In addition to the pig, various additional pieces of meat were also prepared on the grill, which contributed to the variety and created a pleasant atmosphere and aroma around the fire.
In my region of Spain, this way of cooking is most often associated with traditional restaurants, family celebrations or local gatherings where people gather to share food and time together. That’s why it was interesting to watch this culinary tradition being performed live. In addition to offering deliciously prepared food, such an event brings a sense of community and preserving local customs that have been passed down from generation to generation.
