Happy Sunday to everyone in Healthy Steem community. Am happy today to join this contest organized by moderator @suboohi with an interesting topic in which I will share my opinion on the contest question. Read through as I begin.

What is a obesity?

Obesity is abnormal health condition whereby a person has excess body fat which is usually increases the risks of other health diseases.

Obesity is a very common problem now in the world because of what many people eat as food. The inherited obesity is not common compare to the none inherited.

How Obesity affects our health?

Obesity affect our health by increases the risks of health problem because of the excessive fat stored in the body. The health diseases that affect a person with obesity badly includes having heart disease, some cancer, stroke, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol level.

Other risk of which obesity affect health are:

Skin: Excess body fat increase more Skin folds which causes sweat to build up in the areas, thereby leading to fiction in the body and rashes.

Other skin problem cause by obesity include the followings:

  • Stretch marks, Plantar hyperkeratosis, Cellulite, Skin tags, Lymphedema, Psoriasis, Acanthosis nigricans, Intertrigo.

Reproductive system

Obesity affect reproductive system of both male and female due to metabolic changes in the body. In male, the changes may affect testosterone of the individual and sperm reproduction while in female, it affect the menstrual cycle, ovulation and may cause complications during pregnancy.

Digestive system

Digestive system can also be affected by obesity by developing other health conditions such as

  • Diarrhea, gallstones, erosive esophagitis,
    acute pancreatitis, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease,erosive gastritis etc.

Respiratory system

Obesity can also affect individual respiratory by making it difficult for a person to breath normal due to decreased in airflow.

Mental health

Many people that are obessed also experience mental disorder such as self-esteem, mood.

Some effective ways to get rid of this problem.

There are so many ways to get rid of obesity and some of the effective ways are;

  • Exercise: Routine exercise is one of the best way to get rid of obesity.

  • Diet: Reducing intake of food that contain too much calories and limiting intake of unhealthy diet.

  • Scheduling of an intermittent fasting meal plans

  • Limiting intake of sugary things

  • By drinking enough water

  • Take unsweetened coffee and other green tea

  • Processed food should be limited.

In conclusion the type of diet we take matter alot to our health, therefore, we should endeavor to eat a balanced meal in order to maintain our health as living an healthy life is all what we need.
