INTRODUCTION

A healthy welcome to all members of this healthy community 🤝

It is another opportunity to come together to deliberate on a very crucial health topic from @sahmie. This topic is more than just to be a contest, it is a topic that deserves attention as it has to do with a world health ravaging disease called MALARIA. 🦟

Malaria has contributed so much in reducing the human immune system and causing death of several millions around the globe, as its attacks is by causing serious infection that negatively affects the well-being of the body system. Hence, fighting and preventing the ravaging surge and surge of malaria becomes an issue of utmost importance.

WHAT IS MALERIA?

Maleria is an infectious disease that is carried by an infected anopheles mosquito 🦟.

How maleria is transmitted and people get infected

PhotoGrid_Site_1718001911882.jpgsource

Maleria is transmitted when the infected anopheles mosquito bites another person who is not yet infected with the disease. Having bitten the non infected person, the parasite now travels into the the blood stream and down into the liver until it matures. At maturity, the parasite leaves the liver and now enters the red blood cells. The red blood cells will now become infected as well.

5 Things We Can Do To Stop Maleria Transmission

We can do the following to stop the transmission of maleria:

  • We have to sleep under treated mosquito 🦟 nets.

  • We have to be using insect repellants

  • Be protecting the body by wearing long sleeves shirts and trousers

  • Getting rid of stagnant and dirty waters out of our environment

  • Preventing maleria by taking anti-malaria drugs before we get infected.

SIGNS/SYMPTOMS OF MALERIA

When a person becomes infected with maleria, the following signs or symptoms will begin to manifest.

  • Fatigue

  • Fever

  • Vomiting

  • Tiredness/Fatigue

Why it is important to notice the signs or symptoms of maleria early

Noticing the signs or symptoms of Maleria early enough, would prevent unwanted cases such as death, jaundice, coma or even seizures.

How Maleria Affects Communities And What We Can Do To First It

The effects of the surge of malaria in a community could be disastrous if not taken care of. Maleria through bite-to-bite transmission, can hold an entire community to ransom. Its prevalence in a community may cause deaths of children and adults. It may hinder them from performing their daily duties or attend to their works or the children being stopped from going to school.

Maleria also can bring the economic fortunes of the community down just like the popular saying goes “Health is wealth”.

To Fight against maleria, anti-malaria drugs should be administered patients.
Use of repellants in our environment can be used to chase maleria out of the environment.

why mosquitoes are linked to Maleria and how we can control them.

Mosquitoes are linked to Maleria as a person gets infected by an infected mosquito and then the moves and then bites a non infected person.

To stop malaria infections, we should avoid everything that can cause maleria in the first place.

First, we should ensure to keep our environment very clean so that mosquitoes will not have a breeding place to settle. Avoid living in dirty surroundings or close to a dirty place.

Sleeping under mosquito treated nets and regular medical checkup can help us in to control maleria.

Finally, In recent times, there is an increase in the growth of maleria in our environment. This has led to the development of a more drug resistant maleria. Because of this, there is now more developments in the manufacturing of drugs to counter the resistant maleria disease caused by the mosquitoes.

CONCLUSION

Maleria is a disease that could cause disastrous damage to human health. It could be contacted through person to person infection by an infected mosquito that transmits the disease.

Noticing maleria early could help to prevent unwanted situations like death, seizures, fatigue or fever from arising.

Sleeping under mosquito treated nets, keeping our environment clean, and wearing long shirts and trousers could help prevent Maleria infection.
