INTRODUCTION

Greetings my fellow steemians. Health is very crucial in one's life, because without health, all your dreams planned to be archieved will be doomed. That's why you see individuals visiting the gym, visiting the hospital regularly so as to stay healthy and fit. @sahmie, thanks for organizing this amazing contest, this really shows how much you care about us.

We have so many sickness that can hinder our health, in today's contest we'll be talking about obesity, the causes, and numerous ways to prevent it.

What do you think about Obesity?

In my own point of view, obesity is a medical condition characterized by an excess accumulation of body fat, it's a very bad condition because it has bad effects on our health. What are some of the health risks associated with obesity? This includes diabetes, heart disease and cancer of different types.

  • Poor diet
  • Lack of exercise
  • Food portion size

Poor diet
So many individuals take this sickness into their body thinking they're enjoying themselves. How? They do this by taking sugary drinks and low nutrients foods into their body system. Even after warning them about the risks involved in taking sugary drinks, they'll ignore and go ahead with it. Taking fastfood always also contributes to obesity

Lack of exercise
Being inactive in exercise causesobesity for most individuals. It's very crucial to go for exercise atleast every weekends to keep you fit and jiggy. Regular exercise will help sweat out the fat in your body, which can lead to obesity.

Food portion size
Avoid over eating, because this also causes obesity. I had a friend of mine who overfeed himself, though I've been warning him about that, he ignored and continued, right now he's a victim of obesity. So it's very good to avoid large portion of food or overeating.

What are the best ways to prevent obesity?
  • Balance diet
  • Good sleep
  • Limiting sugary foods/drinks

Balance diet
We must try to eat more of vegetables, fruits of all kinds, if possible take some multivitamin to supplement our daily meals.

So many people don't value the little time God gave us to rest as humans. No matter the work of the day, we should always try to sleep well so as to avoidobesity

Limiting sugary drinks/foods
Not as if it's bad to take all those soft drinks and even beer, but we should have limit. If we can limit the way we take sugary foods and drinks, it'll be for our own good.

conclusion

Preventing or fighting againstobesity is a long term process, it requires commitment and determination. When we know they results it'll yield, this will help us stay away from things that attractobesity

The large food portion size really got me, but then, this is the truth, people don't eat to be satisfied anymore, they eat to till they can't move.

We can control obesity only when we determine to take a close look of our health.
