Do you believe that the foods we eat have medicinal value?

Yes, I believe that the foods we eat have medicinal value. Certain foods are rich in essential nutrients that play a critical role in maintaining health and preventing disease. Fruits and vegetables have high vitamin, minerals and antioxidants that help protect against chronic disease like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Whole grain provides fiber. Tumeric contain curcumin. Ginger helps in digestion. Garlic is used to boost immunity. Green tea is used to improve brain function, fat loss, and lower risk of cancer.

Give 5 examples of foods that you consider to be powerful "medicines" for the body, and what they do.

Here are the five examples of food that are considered powerful " medicines" for the body.

Tumeric

Tumeric is known for its potent anti-inflammatory effects, which can help reduce inflammation in condition like arthritis. It also act as a powerful antioxidants. Some study suggest that tumeric can boost level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor ( BDNF).

Blueberries

Blueberries had vitamin C and K. Blueberries are packed with antioxidants that help protect cells from damage. They can help to reduce blood pressure and lower risk of heart disease.

Garlic

Garlic has the function of immune system, helping the body fight off illnesses. It can lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol. Garlic can help reduce the risk of certain cancers.

Salmon

The omega-3 fatty acids in salmon help reduce inflammation and lower blood pressure. It is crucial for brain function and development.

Spinach

Spanish contain vitamin A ,C and K, Folate, Iron, Calcium. Spanish support bone health. Spanish is rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that protect against age-related macular degeneration and cataracts. Spanish may have anti-cancer properties.

How can we use food in our daily lives to keep healthy?

We can use food to maintain health involves incorporating a balanced and varied diet that provides all the necessary nutrients your body needs. We can use mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. We can always choose fresh fruits and vegetables, brown rice and quinoa, lean meats or plant based protein. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Do you think it's important for schools to teach about how food can be like medicine for our bodies? Why?

Yes, it us important for schools to teach about how food can act as medicine for our bodies. Knowledge about the nutritional value of foods and their impact on physical and mental health can empower students to make healthier choices. Using food as medicine can be a cost-effective way to manage health. It can reduce the need for pharmaceutical intervention and lower health care costs in the long run. Teaching about food as medicine equips student with essential life skills and knowledge, fostering a healthier, more informed generation.
