DIFFERENT DISHES ON THE CHRISTMAS DAY

Greetings beautiful people and am glad to be a part of this contest. Thank you @mesola for this beautiful contest.

Christmas is a time of celebration and a time to show love and spend time with our loved ones. Talk of celebration, what’s celebration without good food. I have some dishes I would want to prepare on Christmas and some of them includes; Fried rice, stew, chicken, pancakes, and salad.

Fried rice: Fried rice is a delicacy cooked with rice but it’s different from other rice recipes. I love fried rice because of it feel and the special ingredient used in cooking it. The use of veggies like carrot, sweet maize, green beans etc gives it a special feel.

The fried rice is a good source of carbohydrates and starch which when converted to glucose is a source of energy to the body. The veggies contained is a good source of vitamins which are good for body growth and tissue repairs.

*Salad: Vegetable salads are great food companions for the fried rice. The salad is made up of cabbage, carrots, Irish potatoes, green beans, brown beans, sweet corn and I add boiled eggs on special occasions.

These vegetables are sliced into tiny pieces and mixed together and salad cream can be added to it to give it a perfect finish. The salad is used to eat the fried rice or can be eaten alone.

Salads are a good source of water to the body. Salads contains a lot of fiber which are good for bowel movement. They also help to cut down calories intake and are source of good fat.

Pancakes: Pancakes are delicious snacks made by a mixture of flour, milk, sugar, eggs and a pinch of salt to taste. The mixture is fried and voila you have your delicious pancakes.

Pancakes have great benefits as they are good sources of carbohydrates hence they provide energy. They are also a good source of iron for the body and helps our blood sugar level to be stabilized.

Do we need to break the bank before we celebrate Christmas.

We do not need to break the bank to celebrate Christmas. Everyone should eat according to their budget and what they are able to afford. We can still eat health with minimal finances.

If we do not have plenty money to buy groceries in bulk which of course will be capital intensive, then we can buy in bits and still celebrate our Christmas. All matters is that we celebrate in love and having a good time with our loved ones.
