Greetings to all Steemian friends. I hope everyone is well, and Alhamdulillah, I am fine too. Today I will participate in a nice contest in the Healthy Steem Community titled "Inflammation". Big thanks to @khursheedanwar for organizing an educational health contest.

What is inflammation?

Inflammation is our body's defence mechanism. When there is an infection or injury in our body, the body's immune system creates inflammation to increase blood circulation and fight against bacteria or germs. Inflammation is a complex biological process that manifests as the destruction of blood vessels and various cells or tissues in the body. Symptoms of inflammation are pain, redness, swelling, heat etc. Inflammation is generally of two types, acute and chronic. Acute inflammation usually gets better within a few days, while chronic inflammation takes longer to heal and requires treatment.

Inflammation causes?

Inflammation occurs in our body due to various reasons. The causes are discussed below:

Chemicals: When our body comes in contact with some toxic chemicals, inflammation can occur.
Injuries: Inflammation occurs when our body gets cut, torn, burned etc.
Infection: Infection by various types of bacteria, fungi or pathogens can cause inflammation.
Stress: Prolonged depression or stress can lead to inflammation.
Environment: Inflammation can also be caused by toxic environments or polluting metal objects.
Food poisoning: Unhealthy food, processed food, fatty food etc can cause inflammation.

How inflammation can be treated

There are various ways or treatments to prevent inflammation. I have presented it below:

  • Eat healthy food, such as fatty acid-rich food, vegetables, fruits etc. On the other hand, fatty, greasy, processed foods should be avoided.
  • Physical exercise can contribute to the prevention of inflammation, but the stage of inflammation must be understood.
  • The inflamed area should be given adequate rest and cold water can be applied.
  • Avoid exposure to chemicals.
  • Inflammation can be prevented by various therapies.
  • Inflammation can be cured by taking medicine as per the doctor's advice.
  • Should get enough sleep and be free from stress.
  • Green tea, ginger, turmeric, etc. have anti-inflammatory properties, so consumption of these can help relieve inflammation.

Inflammation is a natural and necessary process in the body's response to injury or infection. It helps to protect and heal damaged tissues. However, chronic inflammation can have negative effects on overall health and is linked to various diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, and cancer.

Inflammation occurs when our body responds to injuries and infection.
But cases like chronic inflammation can persist and and result to a more serious case such as cancer.
It is important to adapt to healthy living habits in other to prevent or better still reduce the intensity of the pain.
