Hello everyone! How're you doing? I hope everything is going well for me; God is in control. I'm here to participate in a contest held by @Suboohi for a healthy Steem community.I wish to utilize this medium to write about heartburn, its causes, and how to prevent it.
Heartburn, also known as acid indigestion or reflux, is commonly caused by eating too much heavy or oily food, or by drinking too much alcohol or coffee.These induce the stomach to create excess acid, causing discomfort or a burning sensation in the stomach or mid chest; some people misdiagnose heartburn as a heart disease rather than indigestion.If the pain worsens when lying down, it is most likely due to heartburn.
- Eating spicy foods.
- Consuming too much booze.
- Eating greasy foods.
- Skipping a meal might cause acid reflux
-Drink plenty of water, at least two large glasses of water before and after meals.
-Eat modest meals and frequent snacks between meals, focusing on foods that relax rather than stimulate.
-If reflux is worse at night when lying flat, consider sleeping with your upper body slightly elevated.
-Avoid smoking or chewing tobacco, as it increases stomach acid and exacerbates the condition.
-Avoid using medication that might cause acid reflux, including as caffeine, aspirin, potassium, and certain antibiotics.
-Instead, take antacids to avoid it, with the safest being magnesium-containing.
-Eating a healthy, balanced diet.
Finally, avoiding stomach acid problems by eating less, drinking less alcohol, and not smoking can help prevent them. I will like to ask @lovinah, @skinnyblack, and @dequeen to join in this contest.
