So let's start the task without any more delay of time.
Do you know what periodontal disease is? |
---|
Yes, the periodontal disease is the inflammation of gums which affects the tissues around the teeth, gums, ligaments and the bones of teeth also. It occurs when we left our teeth without brushing which results in an increase of plaque around the teeth. When that plaque buildup, it becomes more dense and hard which converts into tartar and in results the inflammation of gums occurs which cause a lot of problems for us.
Also, the periodontal disease is known as gum diseases because it cause bleeding in the gums and if it left untreated upto a long time, it can cause tooth decay and many other diseases related to oral health. This is because, the bacteria present in the plaque start decaying the teeth and affecting the gums which can cause gingivitis and periodontitis, the other gum disease.
Write some of the causes of periodontal disease. |
---|
Yes indeed, there are many factors which can cause the periodontal disease and other gum disease as well. So let's have a look at some of them;
When the people don't maintain their oral hygiene and don't brush their teeth regularly, the plaque on them become more dense which cause bleeding and inflammation of gums.
The bad habits like smoking and the use of tobacco, increase the risks of the spread of periodontal diseases because it weakens the immune system and create other complications also.
Maintaining a unhealthy diet which is lack of vitamins including the vitamin C and other nutrients can lead towards the periodontal disease because, it is very important for oral health.
The other factors like the diabetes, genetic disorders and stress weakens the immune system which results in the spread of disease including the periodontal disease also.
Can you tell us how periodontal disease is classified? |
---|
Yes, the periodontal disease can be classified into different stages, based on its severity, symptoms and the infection which it causes inside the gums. Usually, the gingivitis can be the first stage of periodontal disease because, in it the gums become red, inflammated and bleed when we brush them. That can be the start of periodontal disease which can be prevented easily by taking some precautionary measures.
But, when the people ignore such kind of symptoms and keep doing the same things which are damaging their oral health, then that condition converts into mild, moderate and severe periodontal diseases. In these conditions, the pocket type appearances occurs in the gums filled with pus and bleeding. It keeps on damaging the teeth and gums until they fully decayed and lost.
