The Diary Game – #13: Share your day with us!
Dear Dairy
Long time no see.
My Sunday was filled with activities upon activities. Recently, I downloaded a productivity app that helps me put down all the tasks for the day, and manage my day effectively.
Harmattan is gradually creeping in on us, and giving us a clue about how the harmattan season will be.
I slept in the hot weather but woke up feeling cold. It's not even funny how bipolar this weather is. Someone needs to get ready for what the season comes with; cracks on the lips and legs.
Morning
I woke up around 6: 10 am and did my morning prayers and chores. I rushed through the morning because service starts at 8 am. I attend an Anglican Church here, the church closer to my lodge. Usually, it is a Yoruba church because people that attend the service are old men and women but the Rev deemed it fit to have an English service by 8 pm every Sunday for Corp members so we can understand the service.
By 7: 50 am, I went to church, to meet up with the time. During the service, we took our passage from Luke 5:2-15 which talks about the man by the pool of Bethsaida. The preacher focused on the importance of having tangible relationships around us. There's no such thing as saying you are self-made. Nobody is self-made. He went further to say that we need people to grow. We grow by helping each other, but this does not just happen. It happens when you surround yourself with people willing to help you climb up the ladder and not those who do not have concerns for their future less yours.
After the service at 9: 10 am, I came back home to wash my clothes. I was grateful that I had the time to clear my piled-up work to continue other things. I took the time to clean the room and get ready for the week.
Afternoon
So I got a speaking engagement to speak on LinkedIn Optimization and how to go about it. By 3 pm, so took time to browse and research ideas on what to talk about.
The next on my list to do for the day started by 4 pm to curate and collate ideas for the companies I am managing their social media page for the week. I woke online as a social media manager from Brands and honestly, it is time-consuming which takes me off Steemit and other things I need to do.
Evening
When I finally gathered the ideas for what to post for the week, I drafted out the body of these ideas and then scheduled them with Buffer, a scheduling tool I use to batch-post content for my clients.
Before I slept off, I tried to finish marking and collating students' marks to record. I wanted to finish everything about the scores and focus on other things entering the new week.
Lesson of the day: It shows strength to go in one direction when others are going in another direction.
I invite @usoro01, @yakspeace, and @drhira to partake in the contest.
Indeed, your day was busy especially your afternoon and evening. It's a good thing you were able to get done with the day's plan.
It's quite fulfilling when we're able to meet up with our plans for the day even when it very busy
Lastly, I very much agree with the Sunday preacher. There's no such thing as "self-made" as our way to success is interwoven with different people contributing positively to that.
Interesting write up I must say, thanks for the invite.
Yes, There is no such thing as being self-made. Thank you for responding.
