CONTEST! Choices! What will it be?
I'm @wasa2020 and I will be attempting this contest today which was organized by @patjewell and talks about choices. In this contest, we are presented with 5 items to make a choice and write about just one.
I have selected chicken among all to write about. It's a festive period I.e the period when Christians all over the world celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead which symbolizes that death has no power over him any longer.
Within this period, Christians all over the world tends to slaughter chickens for those who can not afford goats or cows for the celebrations. Chicken is one of the famously used meat during any celebration of the Christin faith and told is not an exception.
I have chosen chicken today because it happens to be my favorite meat. Chicken, as we all know has different breeds, the one I have presented for us above is called local chicken and it takes sometimes about 6 months to 1 year to mature for consumption.
Another form of chicken is called the agric chicken which matures within the first 3 months. This is a variety that is often used for parties or restaurants as it matures quite on time. The difference between the local or native chicken and the agric chicken is that the native is sweeter though the meat is hard compared to the agric.
The native is allowed to roam around the community and get food for their selves whereas the agric are always kept in a confined room where they can not go out and then they are given food at regular intervals. The native or local can endure cool or harsh weather conditions but the agric can not.
In summary, training a chicken depends on what plans you truly have for it. For agric, you can take 3 months to train it and harvest it within that period but for the native, it has to take about 6 months to 1 year for it to be ready for any form of consumption.
It is mainly trained for consumption. Almost everyone can afford chicken today and that is the reason we make use of it often in celebrating most festivals such as Easter, Christmas, Wedding, Birthday, etc. I hope this article explains briefly what I know about chicken.
I want to finally invite @obiking, @cephasmbah, and @dave-hanny to also join the contest today.

I am sure this easter celebration day, chicken does not forget by your family. I talk about pot plants.
Thank you for entering the contest.
I agree, Africa loves chicken! It is definitely the cheapest source of protein in my country, South Africa.
What I cannot understand is that South Africa export our best chicken and import inferior chicken from Brazil.
Tip: Make sure you follow all the rules of the contest (•ิ‿•ิ)
Thanks for your support and comment
Cooking chickens are one of the major part of celebrating the easter holidays. It feels different if it not prepared but these days, they are kind of hard to get by.
