As a cook, explain things that should and shouldn't be worn when cooking

I have gained little understanding about cooking, and that was from my practical class in junior secondary school. We were taught a lot about home economics, and cooking and kitchen-related things were part of it.

Before cooking, a cook should be properly dressed in his/her apron and hair cover. This is very important because it prevents our clothes from getting stained or our hair from falling into the food.

In some cases, a hand glove should be worn depending on the type of meal you are preparing. A cook is not supposed to wear a wristwatch or an earring when cooking; all of these could get someone uncomfortable while in the kitchen, and you know what it means to be uncomfortable in the kitchen—it means the food would come out in bad shape.

A cook should wear flat slippers and not heels in case of an emergency. Long hairs are not to be worn when cooking, but it's unfortunate today that a lot of professional cooks now do the opposite when in the kitchen, maybe because they are professionals so they could do whatever they desire.

Explain what you understand by kitchen etiquette.

In the culinary space, etiquette is manner or behavior, so kitchen etiquette is the manner or behavior of a person in the kitchen.

Some kitchen etiquette includes;

• Wash all used dishes; do not leave them littered in the sink.

• Clean all spilled water.

• If you use a sponge, please wash it before putting it away.

• Clean up the cylinders after use, especially when you have spilled food all over.

• Replace an item from where you picked it up.

• Keep the kitchen towel clean always.

There are a whole lot of them. Kitchen etiquette is just the manner in which a person behaves in the kitchen, so it's an individual thing because the way you behave in your kitchen is quite different from the way I behave in my kitchen.

People say, "it is good to have a meal timetable, it helps you eat a balanced meal. What do you think about it? Do you have a meal timetable?

Well, I don't think it's a bad idea; it all depends on choice. I used to leave with an aunt who had a food timetable pasted right inside her kitchen. Every day when I wake up, I go to the timetable to check what we have for breakfast and start preparing it, and then get ready for lunch and dinner.

I would say yes, the timetable helped us eat a balanced meal, think less, and save our time. When you don't use a food timetable, you tend to repeat the same meal over time. But with a timetable, you program your food—when to eat and when not to eat.

Even fruits were added to our timetable, and that helped us to consume more fruits and vegetables. When we eat food without a timetable, carbohydrates can be eaten like three times in one day.

Is eating at midnight a good habit, yes/no. State your reasons

I don't think it's a good habit; although I do it, I doubt if it's a good habit. They said eating at midnight gets one to grow fat, but I don't know how true this is because I am not well informed about this.

The only time I know for eating is morning, afternoon, and night, but at midnight, it's a choice.

What is the first thing to take when you wake up in the morning? Why do you take it?

The first thing to take when I wake up in the morning is a glass of room temperature water. This routine was taught to me by my mom. She made me practice it until it became part of me.

Taking early morning water is very good for the body system. It washes away every impurity and keeps one set to run the day. It keeps you fresh, strong, and glowing.

Early morning water keeps you healthy, free from immune diseases, and hydrated.

Hello dear lady.
I also think that it is not good to eat so late at night, so the latest I eat is 8:00pm.
I have the habit of washing the dishes and keeping the kitchen clean thanks to my mother.
Thanks for the invitation.
Many blessings..🙏🏻
