Hello beautiful ladies of Steem For Ladies Community.

Happy new month and a happy new week to you all. I bring you greetings from Lagos Nigeria my base.

I have come to make my entry into this beautiful contest by @ruthjoe, this is one beautiful topic I loves engaging in any time any day.

In this contest, we are to give our views about the Girl child, her education, upbringing, her challenges, etc.

Before now, it's just a few parents especially from Nigeria that valued girl child education.

But in this 21st century, a lot of parents has come to see the benefits of the girl child education and empowering the girl child.

Before now, the notion was that the best for the girl child is to grow up, get married and give birth to children.

In this 21st century, there are a lot of proofs that has countered that notion.

The girl child is doing amazing in our different spheres and world 🌎.

The only difference between the girl child and the male folks, is the gender.

In today's world, the girl child (woman) can fit into any career in the world.

We have lots of women doing well in business, tech, politics, ministry, education etc.

Women today also make good leaders in their different spheres of career.

The girl child if given the right education and opportunity to platforms, does amazingly well in any sphere of life.

Do you believe in Girl child education? What's your view about girl child education.

I believe in the girl child education 100%. The girl child deserves a good education.

Like I said previously, the only difference between the male child and the girl child is the gender.

The girl child if given a quality education can do lots of things which the make folk can also do.

Giving the girl child a quality education is one of the good investments any parent can do for themselves.

I know of a family in my village that had an only daughter, they gave this lady the best of the education.

After then, she got a job in USA, transformed lots of things in their family, she built a company that generates income for the parents and hired workers for them.

She takes them to USA on monthly basis for health check up.

She has done more than what 3 sons has not done for their parents.

So it is really good to give the girl child a quality education at all cost.

What is your opinion about early girl child marriage? Should it be encouraged?

In my opinion, I think 🤔 the issue of marriage should be based on the maturity and mindset of the girl child in question.

The issue of marriage should not be imposed on the girl child as some parents do.

The issue of marriage is a thing of maturity in mindset, emotion, character etc. And not necessarily age.

There are ladies that gets matured and ready for marriage at age 16, 18, 21 etc. And there are ladies at age 25, 26, 28 are not ready for marriage.

So it should be left for the girl child to make her decision on when to marry. If she is ready at an early stage of her life, let her go ahead with it.

In the house who should do house chores? Girls or boys. And why?

The house chores are supposed to be shared among both the male and female children.

The girl child is not meant to be left to do the chores alone.

This is a way of also training the both genders in how to do things for themselves.

I have met guys who doesn't know how to do things in the house because they were not thought on how to do house chores, it's usually not good for them.

I have a friend whose husband doesn't know how to pick up a pin in the house because he wasn't thought on how to do it.

The house chores were done by his sister's only, but now it's is seriously affecting their marriage.

His case is too bad that he can't help the wife to do anything in the house even when she was heavily pregnant and in pains.

So both the girl child and the boys should be thought on how to do house chores, it should be shared and rotated equally.

Share some challenges the girl child go through.
Gender Discrimination:

The major challenges that the girl child encounters is gender discrimination.

Though due to the advancement in education, the level of gender inequality and discrimination has reduced, but it is still seen in a couple of places in the society.

It is gender discrimination that leads to poor education and illiteracy of most girl child.

It is gender discrimination that has limited most women from getting into certain positions they were denied access to, especially in my country (Nigeria).

It is gender discrimination that makes parents force their girl child into some marriages they were not supposed to get into, because they want to give the guys a more quality education.

The root of all girl child challenge is gender discrimination, and it has become so bad that by default, some ladies feels guys are of better advantage than them.

Conclusion

In my little research about the both genders, I have realized that the girl child tend to take care of the parents more than the male folks.

Basically, it is good to give the both genders a quality education and training.

Whether it's a male or female gender, let's endeavor to give them the best of training they need.

Like I said previously, training or educating the girl child is one of the most important investment any parent can do. This is because they will definitely reap the profits.

I invite @mesola, @thomisin and @ninapenda to come participate in this contest.

Best regards 👍

I appreciate your invitation dear friend.

About your thought on the girl child making her decision about early marriage herself; it is true that she can decide what she wants but most times just like you talked about maturity, she can make a wrong decision because she doesn't have a clear understanding of what she might be signing.

Every child is important, so in a family, chores should be shared appropriately.
