They all relaxed in their base thankful for the little minute of rest they desperately needed which unfortunately did not last long because the alarms started blaring and they got up rushing to fight and defend their country one again.
Soldiers are people who serve in the military. They work to keep and protect their country along with the millions if people and families in it. They can be sent to different places to fight around the world. They are people who endure serious training and make extreme sacrifices to prepare mentally and physically for the challenges and problems that come with being a part of the military. They are people who sacrifice self care and because of this, are highly respected and placed highly in the eyes of many.
There are rankings amongst soldiers depending on their level of education like in my country.
We also have special units where soldiers are grouped. We have the Army, Airforce and Navy. They represent Land, Air and Water respectively.
The risks these people face on a daily basis are unimaginable. If most of us were in their shoes we would probably break down. Well that's the essence of the harsh training they all go through before being a part of the team.
They face both physical and psychological risks.
Physically, these people come face to face to death email they are in combat. While some escaped it, sadly, some don't. Most of them end up with life changing injuries. They are also exposed to dangerous environments and deadly gases.
Psychologically, some of them have to bear the pain of being away from their family and loved ones for a long period of time. The pain of losing friends and colleagues and the stress that comes with it all. There are stories of soldiers who almost died on the field but luckily they were rescued on time. These ones when they come back from service they suffer from PTSD which means post traumatic stress disorder. In countries were there are not therapist to handle this veterans, they become a burden to their self and family.
Then those who don't make it back to their expectant families?
What happens to their loved ones?
I don't wish to have a soldier in my family, I never want to imagine going through the pain of waiting for someone to come back just for me to receive someone else telling you the person your waiting for will never come. That's tragic! And scary. This is part of why most people don't join the military.
Well the military was not meant for men alone. There are also female soldiers. Although their population is not to be compared with that of the men, their presence is still felt.
The risks these people take to protect people they know nothing about is worth the honor.

It all depends on where you are a soldier. With us it is the opportunity to get a well paid secure job, All drivers licenses and other educations are for free. If you sleep at the kazerne (station) instead of traveling home 10 kilometers you get paid at least 45 euro more per night. Easily earned while doing basically nothing.
I had soldiers and higher ranked in the family. Many did not fight for their country to protect it but help starting wars abroad, rob and plunder...the real soldiers are the people, those without training, payment, forced to fight for ideals set by someone else.

It is true that being a soldier is not an easy task and even more so if they are honest, dedicated to the country because they are capable of giving their lives to take care of us, that is why I agree with you, we must honor those who do this job.

Soldiers are the ones who are the pride of the country, the pride of the nation, the security of every human being. Soldiers have to undergo very tough training so that they can protect people properly. How great are soldiers who leave their families to guard the borders and protect people. We are proud of them.
