The Diary Game #37: Share your day with us! - A Day in the Dobratsch Nature Park

Hello friends, I’m greeting you from Austria. Today, we visited the city of Villach in Austria. From there, we drove to Dobratsch National Alps Park. The entrance fee was 20 euros and 50 cents. This park has 10 scenic viewpointsand you can reach them all by car. Some of these viewpoints offer beautiful views of the city. Villach is nestled among the mountains, providing a picturesque setting.

Austria has fantastic playgrounds for kids. The restaurants offer a chance to dine with stunning views. It's always kid-friendly, parents can relax while children play in the designated areas.

As we headed towards the park's scenic spots, we felt the beautiful Austrian nature and the clean air. Dobratsch Park is well-maintained, featuring stunning landscapes and interesting structures. Even during winter, there are orange poles marking the sides of the roads, ensuring drivers don't accidentally drive off track.

At the entrance, there's an information board mentioning stones containing iron oxide and fossilized seashells. The surface of these stones is quite smooth, resembling marble. It’s noted that iron was extracted from these stones, even for making items like horseshoes. This kind of mining is considered quite interesting and showcases a unique part of nature.

In the national park, you're advised to keep your dogs under control and be careful when cycling, as there might be cattle and deer around.

We came across a small pond with a platform in the middle, providing a swimming area for ducks.

While driving to the park, you have to leave your car in the parking area and walk up using tourist trails. There are various scenic spots and routes of different lengths.

In the national park, you might encounter wildlife like mountain goats. Additionally, different rock types are displayed, with some rocks being around 320 million years old, showcasing unique colors and textures. There are informational panels across the park guiding visitorsand hiking trails to explore natural landscapes.

The park has several restaurants and rest areas where visitors can eat, relaxand enjoy the scenery. Some restaurants are preparing for the winter season by setting up mountaineering equipment. The menus offer a variety of food and drinks. We ordered non-alcoholic beer, mixed salad, chicken saladand goulash soup. The prices were not overly expensive.

One interesting detail in the area is the presence of lockers at some bus stops for motorcyclists. Riders can use these lockers to store excess gear, which can be handy when exploring or engaging in other activities. Buses also run regularly, making transportation convenient.

There is a well-organized trail for tourists. Along the trail, there are benches for resting and various informational panels about the region's flora, wildlifeand valuable stones. Everything is designed for the comfort of visitors.

Strong winds can occur in the park, but today the weather was calm and beautiful. There are different trails around the park; some are suitable for strollers and bicycles, while others are for hikers. There are also designated areas for restroom needs.

The views along the way were truly stunning. The rocky landscapes and mountains reflect the grandeur of nature. There are different routes to climb to the peaks of the high mountains, with various trails to follow. Many tourists were enjoying these beautiful sights along the way.

While exploring the national park, we found rest areas where we could take a break and observe the surroundings. For many people, this is a peaceful and informative place. If you enjoy nature walks and outdoor activities, this park is definitely worth a visit.
