A passport is an official document that serves as a means of identity which primarily verifies one's citizenship and is issued by the government.
It contains personal data like the holder's name, date of birth, identification number and nationality.

It also contains a photo and signature for proper Identification. With a passport, you can travel internationally, and take part in a range of activities, like education, tourism and even business knowing fully well that you are guided and protected by this document.

Passport as we all know is a document that allows individuals to cross boarders and enter foreign countries legally.
It serves many purposes like allowing international travels, as a means of identification and also a document of one's Information. It also ensures the security and safety of every traveler as there is an assurance you are being protected by the security agencies of other countries in as much as you have a passport.

These passports can also be used domestically to register and apply for government services, open bank accounts and even prove identity and age when buying age restricted items.
Passport is a very useful document internationally and i can confidently say that it has regulated so many international activities.

A brief history of passport

Back in the days, there was nothing like a passport but passage letters which were formerly issued by rulers to individuals traveling across their territories. These letters served as a means of protection and identification as you will be granted access to other regions while possessing it. There were not many personal details unlike today which contains even your date of Birth. Earlier in the days, you must have this passage letter for you to be allowed into other territories.

In the 20th century, things began to change and a passport was introduced in the united Kingdom as a means of identification in 1915 during World war I which helped to identify friends from the foe. In commitment to regulate the international travels, other countries began to make it a must have document for every individual traveling across their borders. As traveling became part of economic growth, passports are being considered a legal identification document which today, can be taken anywhere across the globe.

How have passports contributed to today's life?

Passport as I believe is a small but mighty document that serves as your entrance key to the world.
It has played a crucial and vital role in enhancing international activities today.

There are many contribution of the passport which has made the world a better place today such as facilitating global business, enabling international travels, enhancing professional and personal growth, promoting research and education supporting humanitarian efforts, strengthening family connections and enhancing national security among many others.

People consider passports today as a tool for professionals to catch up on business trips, attending meetings and conferences across different borders around the world without any stress as you are recognized and identified on crossing any border.
It has also regulated international travels.

Conclusion

In conclusion, passports have been a Vital tool in shaping and regulating the day by day activities across the globe. It is important for every individual that has not registered or gotten their passport to try his or her possible best to get one so as to aid your contribution towards a simple and interconnected World. As for me, I got mine already and I can currently travel around the world without any restrictions so get yours now and be part of the new world.

Passport has to be the most popular means of identification. I've been trying to process one to process my visa to travel but the process is just so stressful, hopefully I will be done with it successfully soon

I think the location sometimes matters in the delay of getting it done, take example of Lagos Nigeria, trying to get your passport in Lagos will always cause delay because of the number of people that goes there for registration. I wish you get it done soon and thanks for your support.

Your post indeed wasn't a waste of time, I'm glad I read through it.

And your right, the passport is indeed a small but mighty booklet. Kudos bruh on making a choice.

Hi @sirexcellence01, coincidentally I also chose the passport, because I found the topic very interesting for everyone around the world.

The good thing is that it allows us to travel, to know other countries in a legal way and with the protection of the rulers, besides studying, working or just getting to know.

Every day passports are getting better and better to avoid forgery.

Greetings.
