Hello, my dear steemian friends! Another week has begun with Choices! Humm, this time what will it be? Is it a kite, a doll, a stamp, grapes, or drums? Yes, it’s better to talk about kites, because now it's kite season.

These days, the kite scene is something that can be seen here and there in the world. In Sri Lanka, we are also flying kites these days, and it has become a worldwide trend.

Can you recall making kites out of tissue paper, yarn, and reeds as a child and competing in kite flying? This is not only a trend among children, but also among adults who enjoy making and flying kites.

However, kite flying is not a new trend in the world, but rather a common scene that can be found all over the world at certain times.

Even if you've made a kite, flown a kite, or seen a kite, you may not be aware of its history. If you take the time to read my article, you will learn more about the kite.

The kite is simply known as a Chinese brand. According to what has been discovered, the first kite was created around the 5th century BC by Mozi and Lu Ban, two Chinese philosophers. In Chinese history, it is mentioned that they made a kite that looked like a bird and flew it over the sky for three days.

It is said that in the early days, the Chinese used kites for religious meditation, then you can see that flying kites is also meditation. But later it was used as fishing gear. A kite is also known as a weapon of war, according to Chinese chronicles.

It is said that the Chinese made kites mostly out of bamboo and silk clothing. You are aware that the Chinese are well-known for both of these materials. Some says that the physics of kite was the reason to start the airplanes.

The kites invented by the Chinese spread to countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, and Korea, and later to India. After India, it eventually spread to Western countries too. It has now become a cultural phenomenon that belongs to the entire world. It is a national sport in countries such as Afghanistan. However, the city of Weifang in eastern China is still known as the world's kite capital. Do you know that the annual kite festival held in Weifang is one of the most famous kite festivals in the world? There are many kite festivals around the world, but the most popular and largest kite festival is the Weifang kite festival, where people compete for the title of "Kite King." Competitors from over 40 to 50 countries compete in this kite festival. This kite festival includes a fireworks display, traditional dance, and a variety of other activities. It is said that this city has a kite museum too. As well Sri Lanka also has many kite festivals, and Gall Face is the kite paradise of Sri Lanka.

The world's largest kite festival is held in our neighboring state of Gujarat, India. True, the main one is in India, and the biggest one is in China. I don't know if you believe it or not, but the state government is said to be giving two days off for this kite festival. According to reports, people from 42 different countries attend the Gujarati Kite Festival. Not only that but it is estimated that over ten million people attend this kite festival each year. This festival is a crazy one, with a lot of cultural dance, Bollywood superstars dancing, and songs.

Because of these factors, kite flying has become a popular tourist attraction in some countries around the world. The kite festival on Bali Island is one such example, as the island has some of the most beautiful tourist beaches in the world. Because the Bali kite festival is similar to a cultural festival, many tourists travel to Bali to witness it.

There are many kite festivals in the world. We can’t forget about the Blossom Kite Festival, which is held concurrently with the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Tokyo, Japan, and the famous Uchinada Kite Festival which is held in Uchinada Beach in Japan. In addition to these, there are thousands of kite festivals across Europe and the Americas. There are only a few countries that do not hold kite festivals. Some countries have banned flying kites.

We know, in today’s technologically advanced world, kids don’t have time to play with kites. It can be viewed as a tragedy. But it is our responsibility to allow the children to make a kite or two because kites are beautiful memories that cannot be easily erased from our history of life.

This is my entry for the contest, and I hope you find it useful. I'd like to invite @chant, @suboohi, @goodybest, and @inspiracion to take part in this lovely contest.

Wuaooo me encanto el matiz espiritual que le diste al post. No sabia , que noble es la meditación que con una cometa se puede realizar. Amaría ir al festival de cometas en Bali.
