There is no understanding without Communication, so am agreeing with your opinion. Peaceful communication is always the basic feat in dispute resolution. Each of us has to understand we are not always right and so endeavour to understand the position of the other.
It is what brings about compromise, compromising or giving in doesn't make you any weaker, it is a means of letting peace reign over who is wrong or who's right. Stay blessed!
Being willing to listen to the other will make it possible to have a peaceful communication. It is not necessary to win or always be right, the most important thing is to be able to communicate and understand each other, that is what strengthens relationships.
