Choices! What will it be? #76

Hello to all of you.

Hope you are doing well!

Firstly thankyou to @patjewell for giving us a chance to express our views on variety of topics that we can't even imagine in our day to day life.

So today i would like to express my views on "Example"

My name is included in those women who always give some or other example which always aptly suits the conversation going on. I have had this habit since childhood because I had seen my mother and father doing this. By childhood I mean 6th-7th class, though today's children's childhood probably lasts till that. Being a teacher I have seen that there is a huge difference between the old childhood and the new childhood. Today I see that boys now behave with girls of the 4th or 5th classes like we used to do in the 10th or 11th class.

1- We cannot imagine our life without examples because these examples are not mere idioms and proverbs but also living descriptions. For example, when a child starts growing up, he definitely has some person in his life like his father, mother, grandmother, uncle etc. whom he wants to become like, so this is also an example for him.

2- Most of the subjects in our studies are such that we cannot understand them without examples and as soon as we are given examples, we understand that topic completely like there is a subject in mathematics named Tally which we cannot understand but when we are given examples of it then we understand it very well like writing 5 |||| this straight lines and a Diagonal line together become 5. Similarly there are many other subjects which can be understood only with examples. Similarly we can understand other subjects like Science, English, Hindi, Geography etc only with examples.

3- One way of giving example is that when there is a function or festival in the house, then we have to go to the shop for some work and if we have not done that work properly then the family members immediately give examples that your uncle's daughter or your maternal uncle's daughter did this work this way or that way, then we say that this work was not right, in such a case mother says "if you don't know how to dance, the courtyard is crooked" meaning you did not do the work properly and it seems that the work was not right at all. Many times we say that mummy loves you a lot and not me, then we can give the example that you are the "apple of mummy's eye", in this way we learn a lot which is given from time to time.

4- On the success of a family member we can say that today we will light ghee lamps in the house, on the contrary when someone encourages fights then we can say why are you pouring ghee in the house today. A very good example related to health is An Apple a day Keeps Doctor away, Now that is if we eat one thing daily then diseases will not affect us.

5- Akshar: There is a member in the family who explains a lot by speaking just a little, so we say "Gagar me sagar bhar diya". Similarly, there is a saying in Sanskrit "shthe shathayam samacharet" which means that it is best to do evil to an evil person.

Nowadays, parents give such examples to their children, but I have never given such examples to my children or my family members. In the end, I would like to tell my friends that being parents or elders, we should never give wrong teachings to our children or our younger ones, rather we should guide them properly by giving them the best examples because without giving examples, we can neither teach anyone anything nor can we learn anything ourselves in life. In our writing also, we have to give many examples related to the topic, whether it is through a problem or through our experience, it means examples only, we can understand a good friend more through examples "a friend in need in a friend indeed". This example tells us what a true friend is like. Similarly, we give and take many examples in our life.

At last i would just thanks to all the members of the community to keep faith in me and always allowing me to have a better growth.

Thankyou, hope all of you will enjoy reading it..

I agree 100% with you that what counts is giving our children the BEST examples of who and what we are and not by following what others do.

I've also learned that life may not always go as planned and as per the examples we are trying to set, but a good laugh can make it all worthwhile! (•ิ‿•ิ)

Best wishes!
