Food Thought #2| What's on your Mind?

Our thoughts are the forerunners for our words, our attitudes, and our decisions—they even affect our relationships and how we see ourselves and other people.

Before the mouth speaks, the mind must have thought something. It is from the mind that evil is nurtured, and good is also nurtured. If there is one thing I've learned so far, it's how much of an impact our thoughts have on our lives. Our thoughts are of great importance and play a vital role in fulfilling our God-given potential.

A lot of people are where they are today because of what they possess in their minds. Some carry a disgraceful event that took place 50 years ago and are still settling with it. How can people possess their minds with unnecessary things, forgetting the most important things the heart needs to be fed with?

When you think evil, you see evil. When you think of poverty, it comes running to you. When you think growth, you grow with speed. I worship at a word-based church where the scripture is chewed raw, and when you have an understanding of what the word says about you, your mind is filled with such thoughts.

People who are wealthy today dreamt about it and worked towards it. They never saw themselves as small or low. Everything is not money. I met a young guy some weeks ago, and in the middle of our conversation, I asked him what was on his mind, and he quickly said money. He said he wants the quickest way to make money.

"It is said that the road to success is very narrow; I don't think there is a quick and fast way to success." I know that every young person out there wants to make money; that is literally what's on the mind, but would you possess the mind with just making money and not finding ways around it?

People say they want to make money, but they only think of the fastest way to make money. Why not think of the best way to make cool money, what business you must do to make money, and not go about thinking about how to steal, fraud, or manipulate others for their money?

"What's on your mind?" When you choose to think negatively, your life turns bitter, bad, sour, and worried, but when you choose to think positively, you stay joyful, happy, and faith-filled.

Learn to associate yourself with people of great mind—people whose minds are filled with positive thoughts. If you study God's words daily, I tell you, nothing will ever push you off balance. Our minds should be filled with only God's promises to us. That is why you must study the word to know those promises, because if you don't know them, you keep filling your mind with negative thoughts.

"Out of the abundance of the mind, the mouth speaks." The mouth cannot give birth if the heart has not conceived. What's on your mind?

When you learn to line up your thoughts with God's promises, you stay put and joyful at all times. The current situation in the country would not bother you at all. I don't think of what to eat each day because my father said he would supply all my needs according to his riches, emphasis on all, which means I cannot lack what to eat, or what to wear.

What's on your mind determines how long you will stay on this planet. I think you need to sit back and check your thoughts again. Check that action you want to carry out now to know if it's the right thing to do. Don't speak before you think. Think before you speak or act!
