Greetings friends,

Welcome to my blog. Today I will be sharing a contested topic "Choice, what will it be?" It is a weekly contest by @patjewell and if you've not been participating, I urge you to do so this new week.

Well, the choice is what we do every day without even knowing that we just chose something. In this contest, I want to discuss my choice of topic "TIME."

What is time?

Time is Fast When you are Late. Time is Slow When You Wait. Time is Endless When you are in Pain. Time is Short When you are Happy.

Have you ever wondered what time is? How it came about? The Cambridge Dictionary explains time to be part of existence that is counted in minutes, hours, and years. These are definitions of time that we are conversant with. Over the decades, philosophers like Aristotle and Augustine have made more analyses of the time concept and its impact on our life and society.

According to Augustine, time was not infinite because he believed that God created time and it is impossible to create something infinite. He also believed that time exists only in our minds and that it affects how we interpret it.

According to Aristotle, he believed that there was a moment when time began and then there must be something to mark that moment as the beginning of time

Time's relation to society is its usefulness as a measurement tool like calendars, clocks, and stopwatches. These tools are indispensable for setting in order our individual and collective lives. In our everyday life, we look into the past, present, and future to determine the path we need to follow, to avoid certain mistakes.

Understanding past events and historical awareness is essential to us in making future decisions. Time notion is also present in everything we produce. How long it took to produce one item is a parameter to determine how to act towards it.

Types of Time

Chronological Time: This is the time that we share into hours, minutes, seconds, weeks, months, years, etc. This never existed before human existence. We invented it to help us control our activities and our environment. To also measure events that are carried out.

Psychological Time: This is the way we relate to time and personal experience. This time is an inbuilt, it's in our head. Most times with psychological time we either stretch time or compress it.

An event that seems boring may tend to last longer than that which tends to be very interesting. The one that seems interesting is been compressed and not stretched.

Conclusion

Time can only be managed and not created. Everything we do in life requires time. There is time to be born and time to die, time to sow and time to reap, time of joy and time of sorrow, time to celebrate and time to mourn.

Because time is precious, we should value and utilize it.

One thing is for sure, time is not always on our side.
