As I would that very morning, after saying my morning prayer, I just lay on the bed pressing my phone till around 9am. So as I got out of bed, I brushed my teeth, bath and dressed up, I made a list of items I wanted to buy as I was about going to the market.

After writing down the items, I then stepped out to the market to get those stuffs. I was able to buy all what I wanted, so I came back home, I removed everything we bought from the bag and then begins to do them one after the other.

Like I said earlier that I wanted to cook editan soup, so I got started with the preparation immediately, since I was hungry and I didn't have anything to eat in the house, that waa why i had to be fast as i could to finish up with the cooking so that i can eat.

My food items

The above picture is the food items that I bought from the market, which are:

Ingredients

• Meat

• Cow skin

• Periwinkle

• Waterleaf

• Editan

• fresh pepper

• Crayfish

The remaining ingredients was at home already, like the dried fish, salt, Maggi and red oil.

Preparation

Step 1

I started by washing the meat and cow skin, put them into the pot, added salt pepper and maggie and placed it on fire to steam for about 20minutes.

Step 2

After putting the meat on fire, I selected dirt from the crayfish and pounded it with fresh pepper and set aside.

Step 3

After that I now pound my sliced editan that I bought from the market, the pounded is optional, sometimes I don't pound it, that is always base on how tiny the seller has sliced it, so in this very one, it wasn't sliced but not that tiny like I expected so I decided to pound it so that it will give me the sweetness that I want after cooking it.

Step 4

After setting aside the pounded items, I now checked the meat on fire, it was done, so I put it down and then put water in the kettle and boil which I will used in washing the bitter taste of from the editan.

Step 5

While the water was on fire I made use of that time to washed and sliced the waterleaf and set it aside, and I also washed the periwinkle and set aside too. When the water on fire has boiled, I poured it into the editan and covered it for 2minutes before I used sifter and wash the editan well.

Step 8

I allowed the red oil to stabilized well in the pot, then I added my pounded crayfish and Periwinkle, stir it well, covered it and allowed it to simmer for 2 -3 minutes.

Step 9

Then after I added the editan and stirred it all together, taste for salt and also added a little more oil to it then I cover it and allowed to simmer for 2 more minutes.

Step 10

After the 2minutes I open the pot and stir it one more time before I put the pot down from the fire and my soup was ready, while I put water on the fire to make garri (eba).

Behold my delicious pot of editan soup

The way I was now hungry it was as if I will be able to finish two cups of garri and I had to prepare the garri plenty, so that I can eat enough of it.

My food is ready

I enjoyed my food slow and steady as it was hungrying me😋 but I couldn't finished all the garri (eba) that I prepared, but I sure ate to my satisfaction.

Before I could eat my first meal of the day, it was about 2:30pm. After eating I went and freshened up and lay down and sleep, before I woke up it was around 6pm and I stroll out to see my nearby friend because I missed her call when I was sleeping.

So I stayed with her till towards 8pm in the night before I decided to go back home and she came to drop me half way, as I got home I was hungry again but l didn't feel like swallowing again, yet I don't have any other food at home.

I just soak garri in water, I had small groundnut in the house and I used it in drinking the garri as my dinner and went to bed after.

That was how I spend my Friday, thank you for stopping by to read my post as I invite @eveetim, @wase1234 and @chant to participate in this contest.
