Choices! What will it be? #68
I hope you all are doing well. Many regards to @patjewell for always bringing topics to keep us active on this contest. For choice #68, I choose number 4- sewing.
Introduction
Sewing is the act of joining pieces of fabrics together with the use of needle by passing thread through it. It can be done using ones hand or a sewing machine.
Sewing requires skills and creative reasoning as well as technicality to achieve a master piece.
I'll like to write a fiction story on SEWING
Joyce was born in a small town to a middle class family of 7. As the last child among 5 female children, her parents were expecting a male child but turned out to be a little baby girl.
Despite the crushed expectations, her parents showered her love.
Joyce grew up to be a quiet, smart and industrious lady and got married to a business man but after 4 years of marriage, she was yet to conceive and this made her sad couple with the fact that she was a full time house wife.
She had asked her husband to let her work but each time he refused and told her "I need you home and we'll rested so you can conceive". These words would prick her chest. Soon she stopped complaining and started doing what she loved doing as a child sewing. She discovered the passion after her Home Economics teacher taught the topic in school.
Soon, she turned the old storage room to her favourite place in the house. She'll spend the whole day there after her husband has gone to work and would only come out when her husband returned. She also started shopping more for fabrics and this helped to keep her mind at rest and gave her joy.
What could she doing there?
Joyce found happiness in sewing babies clothing using her thread and needle to sew with her hands. She didn't have a sewing machine. She would cut the fabric, and took her time to sew it together. Each time she made a dress, she'd imagine it on her baby. She sewed baby bibs and other baby wears and made beautiful designs using the various pattern of stitching. She'd create embroidery designs, beading, appliques on her sewings to make them beautiful.
Soon she evolved and started sewing clothes for herself, and made beautiful designs on them all hand stitched.
As expected, her husband noticed the new changes in his wife. She no longer spend the evening brooding on her situation and was more happy and beautiful. If he says something hurtful, she'll go to the storage and pour her emotions on her designs, if she wants to think, she'll go there whatever her mood she was sure to visit her comfort zone to sew.
One day after a big fight with her husband, she went to the storage room to cool off but after sometime, her husband went looking for her.
When he opened the door to the room, what met his eyes was a big surprise. It felt like he just walked into a gallery.

He saw different sewing kits, dresses, fabrics all neat arrange and his eyes caught a mannequin by the corner wearing a long flowing gown obviously still under designing. And by another corner was Joyce his wife sitting in a rocking chair beading a piece of fabric. He walked in scanned through all the dresses especially the babies clothing neatly hand stitched. This made him emotional and he engulfed his wife in a tight hug.
After the discovery, he realized that his wife is really skilled at sewing and it made her feel peace, relaxed and happy.
After some months, Joyce husband bought a fashion studio for her. There she would display her craft to the world and sew more designs. This made the woman so happy. Through her sewing she created masterpieces that beautified people, covered them and boosted their confidence. It also made her fulfilled.
One day after returning from her studio and enjoying a moment with her husband, she felt something coming up her throat and she immediately got up to puke...
I hope it's not too long to read and the message well conveyed.
Sewing is a craft that many ladies know especially hand sewing it's helps with basic amendment. It's is also a lucrative skill when done professional.
