Come Online let's chat, this is what I mostly say to my friends when I have an important gist to share with them which I don't want to say it out on call to the hearing of everyone. We have been more focused online in this computer age because many things are done online, from academics to jobs and so on is being carried online.

Social media has really helped in transmitting information real quick, and how these recipients receive this information is by being online. On Facebook which is one of my best social media is used globally by millions of people, this helps people across different continents, countries, states and areas to chat/talk to people.

Looking for the right definition for the word online, most times we can know very well what a word means but how to define it to other people's understanding is what brings trouble.

The word relates greatly with Internet and is mostly used when accessing the internet, if you turn on your mobile network and then use any browser or log in to any social media then you're automatically online.

The stages of getting online is real simple, it just takes a little step.

• Turn on your mobile data
• Connect to the network
• You're online

Have you ever thought of how you would live in this era without getting online? There are many things which we do online and earn a living, not like the olden times we didn't have this much opportunity online and the number of people using the Internet wasn't as much as now. How do you feel when your data subscription is exhausted?, you will immediately want to subscribe again. I will list some of the things we do when we are online, let's see and agree to some of them.

• Apply for a job: They're many job opportunities flying online, if you're interested you just have to apply then Wait for feedback. They're many jobs to take on now, many people have been given web design jobs, freelancing and lots more. People have turned millionaires and large stock holders through getting a job online. There are no limitations to what staying online can do.

• Chat with friends: Gone are the days where classmates and colleagues never hear from each other again after they left school to their various races in life, they had no means of communication and this seemed like they will never cross each other's part. It is very easy now, just know the person's username or get the phone number then you're good to go, many people even found their old time friends through scrolling down the feed on the social media page.

• Ask for help: People make posts of what they're suffering, some people are depressed because of some kind of situation and they don't know what to do, they make the post online and ask for advice, people render good advices which helps to discard a person from such situation.

• Ask questions: How can I make my doughnuts milky?, if only we could see the questions users ask Google daily, then we would know how well questions and answers are circulating daily, people have gotten knowledge and answers by asking questions online

• Blog: getting online has helped bloggers to make contents like writeups and also gain informations

• Create contents: can we access steemit offline?, the answer is clearly no because messages, posts, votes and many other actions are happening every second which needs to be updated, the collection of these data through the use of the internet will make it also reflect on my end and yours. Making TikTok videos and reels is done through the use of the internet.

• Find happiness: We become happy most times when we are online, maybe we came across something funny, interesting and touching this create alot of happiness in us

• Find a spouse: This is a shocking truth, I have seen people say their marriage story began with just an Hi and then bloomed to marriage , many found their husband through Facebook, Instagram and many social media, what ever you do interested people are watching.

A very similar thing to what we do online, we have benefited alot from staying Online, some of them are;

• Earning a living
• Happiness
• Academic excellence
• Fun
• Having new friends

Almost all things with great benefits comes with disadvantages, we can say water is very beneficial to humans but as it comes in excess in terms of flood it is very disastrous. Same as fire, it has helped in many ways but it also consumes.

Going online also has it's own disadvantages and I'm sure you'll agree with me because I'll be listing points to back up this fact.

• Causes Depression: Staying online doesn't only take people out of depression it can also take people into depression, imagine being dragged by group of people over an opinion you gave?, many people go over to deactivate the account, they fall face down to depression.

• Loosing earnings to scammers: Many people have committed suicide because they fell into the trap of scammers, many people have been scammed of their millions ad thousands of their money, which has led them to a very bad state even death.

• Academic retrogression: staying online doesn't only boost your academic excellence, if you're distracted by most of the things staying online offers then you won't be focused on your academics which will lead to failure.

All these points seems like a complete opposite to the benefits of staying online, which means I will say the the word ONLINE is a two edged sword.
