Baa, baa, black sheep, Have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, Three bags full. One for the master, One for the dame...

Got distracted by the baa sound, i just knew it was a sheep because they usually hang around that area eating up grass. At first I was confused and thought for a while, why is this one called a sheep, then which one will be termed a ram and also a lamb, I was very confused so I had to let go of the thoughts.

I had the answers to this, I saw a little board showing animals and it's young one in one home while I went to assist their kid with his homework. It was actually for him to learn about the animals. I saw an ewe as the female(mother) and a lamb and the young one. This really cleared my my thoughts.

If a male, female and young sheep has a collective name and also sperate names then how about a Fish, I've not heard someone give a general feminine name to a fish, I suggested a fisheral though.

This brings us to another round of choices organized by @patjewell, which my selected is a sheep, I choose a sheep because they are important animals that have been of importance to us in many ways

About a sheep

I see a sheep as a mammal which has a thick coat of wools attached to it's body, it is fast to grow back and shedding. A sheep is a domestic animal and they know their shepherd just as the dogs know their owners.

A Male sheep is known as

  • Ram
We've been hearing about rams, some people do think of it as a different kind of animal entirely. A ram is just a male sheep.

A female sheep is known as

  • Ewe
This is a word used to describe a female sheep

A young sheep is known as

  • A lamb
I am sure we have heard more about lambs, and how peaceful there are.
Importance of sheep's to man

Sheep have been of importance to man, even in the early days of man's stay on earth. From the scriptures we will notice more that the Bible really talk more on sheep's(lambs). From these scriptures we could know how meek and gentle sheep's were. Sheep were used in many illustrations in the Bible, like one of the parables of Christ which talks about the lost sheep(lamb).

I would love to list some of the ways which sheep have been of importance to man

  • Clothing
Sheep are known to grow wool, and this wool is being scrap off and processed to cloths for humans. It has serve as a very huge source of clothing for humans for many centuries.

  • Meat
Sheep has been one of the source of meat for humans, many people are in love with it's meat.

  • Milk
Some people use a sheep milk, which is a very good source of protein.

  • As source of income
Sheep has served as a huge source of income to shepherd's, as they have wide varieties of choices on what to do with their domestic animal, they can chose to sell some of them, use and meat and still sell, sell out the wool to traders that are into textile and clothing and lots more. You can now see that they're varieties of ways to make money from keeping sheep.

Who keeps sheep

I first knew of this word from the scriptures before being told in school, I kept hearing the word lamb and it's master, or a person who takes care it.

A shepherd is a person who takes care of his sheep's, he is responsible for feeding the sheep, helping them at critical points and also fighting for them. Lambs are so meek and calm, and they can fall into dangers at times which the parents can't be of help to but the shepherd in his power can save the young lost lamb. There's a parable that talks about the lost sheep, the lamb climbed to cliff of a mountain, Afraid and shaking while the sheep and the shepherd were on the field.

The shepherd had a hundred sheep but when he made an head count he noticed one of them was missing, he had to look for his young lamb, to show how important each of them are, he searched and search and found him. That's how important all of us are, even if we are not huge and wealthy, we are all important before our master.

I would love to invite @johngeorge @davidmrkgeorge and @bossj23 to take part.
