Choices! What will it be? #73
INTRODUCTION
Greetings ,beautiful ladies, how are you doing today?, I believe you are doing great, I'm really excited to be part of this wonderful contest (choices what will it be) and i choose THUMB. Thank you @patjewell for organising this wonderful contest.
A "thumb" is the short, thick first digit of the human hand, located opposite the other four fingers. Unlike the other fingers, the thumb is opposable, meaning it can be brought across the palm to touch the tips of the other fingers. This opposability allows for a wide range of movements and is crucial for gripping and manipulating objects. With this, I will share an intriguing story about a determined THUMB.
THE THUMB'S JOURNEY
In the quiet town of Fingerwood, nestled between the bustling metropolises of Palmville and Wristington, there lived a thumb named Tommy. Tommy wasn't just any thumb; he was the right-hand thumb of a well-known artist, Mr. Leonardo Handsworth. Mr. Handsworth was famous for his intricate paintings, and Tommy played a crucial role in holding brushes, mixing colors, and adding the finishing touches to masterpieces.
Tommy loved his job. He took pride in being the first digit to touch the brush and the last to leave the canvas. But as much as he loved art, Tommy felt something missing in his life. He often looked at the other fingers—Indexy, Middy, Ringy, and Pinky—with a pang of envy. They all seemed to have more freedom, more chances to explore the world beyond the canvas. They could point, type on keyboards, and even play the piano. Tommy, on the other hand, was always bound to the brush, feeling the weight of responsibility on his tiny thumb shoulders.
One day, as Mr. Handsworth was dozing off in his studio after a long day of painting, Tommy decided he had had enough. He wiggled himself free from the grip of the artist's palm and slipped off the hand. "It's time for an adventure," Tommy whispered to himself as he hopped down from the easel and onto the wooden floor.
Tommy's first challenge was navigating the vast landscape of the studio. It was an enormous place, filled with towering canvases, scattered brushes, and jars of paint. As he ventured through the studio, Tommy encountered a dusty, forgotten glove lying in the corner. The glove had once been part of a pair, but its partner was lost long ago. The glove, named Glover, was lonely and delighted to have someone to talk to.
"Where are you heading, little thumb?" asked Glover, his voice tinged with curiosity.
"I'm off to find my purpose beyond just holding brushes," Tommy replied with determination. "I want to see the world, explore, and maybe even paint my own masterpiece."
Glover, touched by Tommy's resolve, offered to help. "I may be just a glove, but I know this studio inside out. Let me guide you to the outside world."
Together, they set off on their journey. Glover, though old and worn, had a wealth of knowledge about the studio's layout and the best ways to avoid the dangers of the bustling world outside. Tommy and Glover made their way past towering easels and stacks of canvases, eventually reaching the studio's large, heavy door.
With a mighty push from Tommy and a pull from Glover, the door creaked open, and they stepped into the vast, unexplored world beyond.
The outside world was a marvel to Tommy. The sun was warm against his smooth surface, and the wind tickled his tip. He saw trees swaying gently in the breeze, birds chirping melodious tunes, and people bustling about their daily lives. But what fascinated Tommy the most was the city beyond—the sprawling metropolis of Palmville. It was filled with art galleries, museums, and countless hands working on all sorts of creative projects.
Tommy and Glover made their way into the heart of Palmville, where they encountered a street artist painting a mural. The artist was struggling with a particularly tricky section and, noticing Tommy’s eagerness, invited him to help. Tommy, with Glover guiding his movements, carefully dipped himself into the paint and began to add strokes to the mural. To everyone’s amazement, the combination of Tommy’s precision and Glover’s experience resulted in a masterpiece that caught the attention of passersby.
News of the incredible painting spread quickly, and soon, Tommy was recognized as the artist's "magic thumb." He was invited to participate in various art projects, from sculptures to digital art, and even became the subject of a documentary about the life of a wandering thumb.
But no matter how many masterpieces he helped create, Tommy never forgot his origins. After months of adventure, Tommy felt a tug of longing for Mr. Handsworth's studio. He missed the familiar rhythm of their work together and the satisfaction of contributing to something greater than himself.
One day, Tommy and Glover made the journey back to Fingerwood. When they arrived at the studio, Mr. Handsworth was sitting at his easel, looking forlorn, unable to paint without his trusty thumb. Tommy quietly hopped back onto the hand, fitting perfectly into his old spot.
Mr. Handsworth’s eyes lit up with joy as he felt Tommy return. With renewed vigor, they resumed painting, creating works that were more inspired than ever. Tommy had brought back with him the experiences and skills he had gained on his journey, and the art they created together reflected that.
Glover, too, found a new home in the studio, helping with various tasks and becoming Tommy’s constant companion. The two often reminisced about their adventures, knowing that they had found their purpose—Tommy as an essential part of Mr. Handsworth’s creative process, and Glover as a wise guide and friend.
And so, in the quiet town of Fingerwood, the thumb that had once longed for adventure found that the greatest journey was the one that led him back home, where he truly belonged.
From that day on, Tommy was not only Mr. Sharp’s trusted thumb but also a symbol of creativity and ingenuity. He continued to assist in every project, but now he also had the freedom to embark on small adventures, exploring new ideas and solving problems. And so, in the bustling city, Tommy’s big adventure became a legend, inspiring others to embrace their own creativity and seek out new opportunities, no matter how small their role might seem.
