Scarves are long pieces of fabrics with varying lengths, width and sizes. It is usually worn or tied around the shoulders, neck or head. This simple piece of fabric serves a lot of purposes and its an important part of our fashion accessories. It comes in various kind of materials and shape such as silk, linen, cotton or wool. Other than keeping one warm, scarves can serve other functions like;

• Protecting an individual especially the hair from getting tangled or the eyes from dust in a windy area. If you have a scarf and the weather is getting dusty or windy you can easily wrap it around your head, rather than fretting over your hair getting tangled or the dust affecting your eyes.
• Serve as a covering from the scorching sunlight which can tan or burn your skin.you can just easily put on a scarf around your shoulders if you want to go out in the hot afternoon. Not only will it protect your skin fron the sunlight but it will also enhance your overall appearance.
• Serve as a sign of support in a function like a football match, or sports program. Wearing a scarf with matching colour of the sports club or team you are supporting can go a long way to show your support for that club.

Scarves can be made out of any fabrics. However, it is advisable to use a material that is comfortable and soft, since it is something that you will wrap around your neck or shoulders. Here are some of the best materials you should go for while looking for a comfortable, breathable scarf.

This is one of the popular materials used in making scarves. The reason is because, it is very light and drapes well around the body. It also has an elegant appeal to it and that why most people go for chiffon scarves especially if you are planning on attending a formal meeting or dinner and you just want to appear classic and elegant. Scarves produced from this material are very beautiful and usually give a flawless, elegant touch to an outfit. However, there are some flaws associated with these viscose material. It is a bit elastic, and when it is stretched to much, it doesn’t retain its original shape. Also, it absorbs moisture a lot, from the oils on your neck and body which can easily stain the scarves causing some spots to appear on them.

5. SILK SCARVES:

This type of scarves are a bit expensive, however the beauty an quality of this type is unquestionable. The silk material used in making this scarves portrays royalty and elegance. They have very colourful prints, and it is very absorbable. Silk scarves give a more younger and vibrant look.
