Yes!
I had a Uniform
Not once but twice but I loved one more
You would bet it looked so attractive and compelling.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
I admired it until I got to wear it as mine
You'd bet wearing the uniform was all that mattered to me at that time.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
I had it on always like my whole life depended on it
You would bet that was all the cloth I ever had

Yes!
I had a Uniform
Simply made yet exuding uniqueness and excellence
You'd bet I was very intelligent if you saw me in it.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
Colourful and outstanding
You wouldn't need someone to tell you about my school after seeing it on me.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
A beautiful one at that
You'd know it was keenly taken care of and adored by me.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
I can only stare at it hanging in my wardrobe
You'd bet I still want to put it on,but no, I have outgrown it.

Yes!
I had a Uniform
Of course, you should have owned one too. I hope you loved it like I did to mine.

💕MY BABY

A uniform is a unique clothing worn by people to distinguish the organization, school or group they belong to from others. It makes one have a sense of belonging and gives the school, organization or group a kind of uniqueness.

The uniform I am talking about is the uniform I used during the days of my Secondary School education. I usually referred to my school uniform as my baby. Of course, I treasured it and wore it with pride.

Oh! How pretty the maroon colour beret sat on my head with the school badge looking so sophisticated.

Is it the maroon colour tie that hung on my neck? It was always so adorable with the School badge sitting pretty on it towards its tail. Knotting the tie was a bit difficult for me to get but after getting it, it was a hill I was ready to die on. I took to knotting my roommates' ties every morning happily.

I need to tell you about the shirt which the tie complimented. A maroon color shirt striped with white colour. A beautiful cloth design if you ask me.

On the shirt was worn a navy blue colour blazer. I know it sounds weird somehow,I think you should try this combination to see the beauty it exudes. The blazer also carried the School badge. So beautiful!

To get the uniform looking ravishing, we coupled the others with a plain maroon colour skirt. The skirt sewn with so much love in a pencil skirt style. I must say, I loved my skirt more.

To complete the dress code,we had on our legs a black cortina pair of shoes with the school name inscribed on it and paired with a black pair of socks.

Although we had a school tailor who made our uniforms, I never liked those, I only loved the one made by my father. Yes, the skirt, shirt and blazer were tailored with love and affection. I had all the time to try them on before the finishing. You know how it feels when you put on clothes that are well fitted and sewn with so much love ... that's how I felt each time I wore them to school.

💕WHY I LOVED MY SCHOOL UNIFORM

My school uniform was and is still one very unique uniform that made us have a sense of uniqueness and sophistication. Yes! We had those because our school was born out of excellence and so the need to exude that excellence via our manner of dressing was paramount.

I can remember when I was still in Primary school. We had neighbors with children who attended the school. Of course, each time they came home for holidays, they were always the subject on every other neighbor's lips. The admiration was so great and to get a match, the children were so intelligent. I first fell in love with the uniform since I wasn't their age to have close contacts with them to ascertain the intelligence our other neighbors knew they had. I was so drawn and obsessed with the uniform that I told my parents I wanted to attend that school when it was time for me to get into secondary school.

Getting into the complete set of the uniform on my first day of resumption, to h feeling was not only blissful but fulfilling. I never imagined getting out of it anytime soon. We had a mirror stand in the hostel and each time I was done dressing up in my complete uniform, I took so much time staring at the mirror, admiring myself and feeling fulfilled.

The uniform gave us a sense of belonging. It made us matter in the society as every parent who had the capacity sent their children to the school. Yes, the uniform gave us a sense of orderliness, cleanliness, discipline and obedient.

Even when we all came from different homes with different moral values and religion, there was no segregation of any kind when ever we were seen in a cluster on our uniforms. We were made to know that we are all equal and should treat each other equally and this brought about unity and care amongst us.

Our uniform made us stand out sophisticated, unique and special in every activity we participated in. This gave us that feeling of not making the praises we got from people, about our uniform been in synchronization with our excellence academically, fade away. With this, we had to study hard and keep the legacy alive. We also built and kept relationships with each other thriving as we saw ourselves as siblings.

CONCLUSION

Although we will not always put on uniforms as our individuality also matters, sometimes having a sense of belonging with people who are not closely related to you cones with a feeling that cannot be underated. Uniforms are great clothings.

I want to invite @imadear, @darasimi and @roselove to pick a choice and tell us about it.
